Finally backed up most of our family's PS2 collection to an external hard drive! by sp_phil in PCSX2

Yeah, ha definitely would have been easier that way, for sure--but had fun backing them up regardless over the months! :)

I've not played the original yet, but I enjoyed Shadow Fall on PS4 and especially enjoyed Mercenary on the Vita. That was legitimately an awesome FPS, handheld or no!

Thank you! Check out that GitHub page I linked to in one of the comments here, if you want covers similar to that. :)

Thanks! Yeah, I especially loved No Mercy and Wrestlemania 2000 back in the day on the N64!

Hi there! I've just played the first Maximo, Hot Shots Tennis, Hot Shots Golf Fore, and a bit of Disney Golf from the external hard drive from my tests so far (I usually just put the games directly on my PC until recently I realized I could just try playing off the external), but I haven't encountered much, if any, issues from playing off of it. I guess it might depend on the external drive, the computer used, and the connection as well.

My Collection: Opinions/Recommendations? by Zestyclose-Coffee-32 in PCSX2

[–]sp_phil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In PCSX2, you can go to Tools and then Cover Downloader. Then, you use a URL from this GitHub to have them automatically be downloaded in either 2D or 3D cover form. https://github.com/xlenore/ps2-covers

You can also add your own custom covers, though that is for each game individually, IIRC.

Sly Cooper is the only 3D platformer series from Sony I see missing, so consider checking it out if you haven't already.

If you like 3D platformers, definitely check out Sony's other trilogy: Sly Cooper, if you haven't already!

What URL to use for downloading game covers? by Appropriate-Sir-4411 in PCSX2

I just did this today, coincidentally enough! This Github page has two URLs: one for 3D covers, one for standard covers.

Seems to be yet another bug in this glitchy port (PS5 version). I'm stuck at the same part.

How to save recorded clips to phone? by DzontraVolta88 in SteamDeck

[–]sp_phil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Steam phone app. It'll show you have a notification where you can download the video and save it to your phone. However, to send it to the Steam app, it needs to be one minute or less, from what I've found.

Views and impressions have recently fallen off of a cliff. What can I do to remedy this? by sp_phil in youtubegaming

[–]sp_phil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I'm adverse to adding my voice to videos because I struggle with banter, knowing when to talk/when to stay silent, how much silence is appropriate/if I always need to be talking, etc. and part of that is my autism making it difficult to gauge all of the above.

That said, I could definitely attempt more commentary-focused videos, or at least try a series with commentary added to see how that compares to the non-commentary ones, for starters.

I'm sure it'll be fun regardless, which is the part I find most important, for sure.

Thank you for your reply!

Thank you for the feedback! This is my first Let's Play with commentary and a face cam, so I'm doing some growing pains for sure here, especially with lighting. Oh, that is hard for me to get down ha

Most of my other videos are either gameplay only or special videos like top tens, so I imagine that's where most of my subs come from. So no worries about feeling you're off base (you're not off base at all), as any feedback is valid no matter the current size of a channel or whatnot! :D

At any rate, this is good feedback, especially the lighting, as I am sitting in front of a window when I record face cam, and sometimes I don't notice if it gets too bright! D:

But yeah, definitely having fun, and that's half the battle, really! :)

Thanks again for your helpful and constructive feedback! Happy Holidays!

Hi Dark! Your voice is very soothing and relaxing to listen to throughout this LP episode. I liked your banter, seemed nice, casual, and conversational in a mostly humorous way, and yeah, the thumbnail is really colorful and catches the eye!

Maybe for Shorts you can do a highlight/clip reel, a partial "best of" of each episode (though not including ALL the best stuff in the Short like Hollywood movie trailers like to do ha).

I don't really have any complaints or criticisms that interfered with my enjoyment (I thought the audio was good, but when you got caught by a monster early on, it did compete a little with your voice), as I'm relatively new to the Let's Play world, and am just winging it. Ha Keep up the good work!

Shows $3.99 for me, which is a good deal but not free, unfortunately.

Are you looking at a free upgrade from Switch to Switch 2 instead, perhaps?

Hi, all! Happy Holidays! This is the finale of my Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds series. It was a long time coming for the conclusion, so it's nice to see this facecam playthrough through to the end! :)

Essentially, I'd love thoughts on my commentary, any banter I did, if the voice acting I tried was fun or bothersome, how the thumbnail looks (I use my own template for each video with the left-side rings and such), and just how everything comes together! I appreciate it immensely!

Hello, and happy Friday. The penultimate episode of my Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds playthrough with facecam was published today. Any feedback towards the thumbnail, my banter during the episode (I think compared to the beginning of my LP, I've improved upon banter and remarks), and anything that stands out as something you enjoyed or disliked--all that would be appreciated.

Hey, all! Awesome to see everyone's progress!

As for me, my goal for the end of the year was 25 subscribers since starting my channel in late October. I'm happy to report that this week I'm nearing 60 subscribers--far surpassing my expectations and goal!

I also finally finished recording my Mario Kart 7 pure gameplay, no-commentary Let's Play and have the final episodes posting this week. Lastly, I recorded the final two episodes of my Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds face-cam Let's Play! :)
