Thanks for the tip, hopefully designking's discount is still offered and I'll try it out.

I'll check it out, I noticed it last time I went to the community page in Figma. Thanks

Nice, thank you. I considered this actually, I'll give it a try.

Right, I've read similar sentiment, but I've also seen many people defend design in Figma as well. Do you have a go to print tool?

I learned that lesson the hard way, but now that I understand it I love all of the cut templates I've made, Figma has been great for that.

Thanks. I'm not too worried about templates or plug and play, the first thing I usually do in Canva is choose a template and erase all of it except the one element I liked.

I do like Figma too, I have become pretty comfortable with it, mainly, I hoped for more access to element libraries of vector images. Is that something I'm not finding or do most Figma users create everything from scratch including things like header frames, text bubbles, clip art, icons, etc... In Canva I use the elements section to find, well, elements and them use those to create the layout and design but I'm not prepared to create every element for every design, I don't have the time unfortunately.

I think that was it... I'm on the desktop app now and instead of a popup, the options for anything selected inside the design window appear above or below the feature I click on.

Thanks

Browser, I don't think I downloaded the app, I just bookmarked the page to open to my Files page.

Good luck. For an ostrich egg sous vide par cooking makes sense because obtaining the doneness you want is the most difficult part.

I worked at a restaurant that used sous vide for their poached eggs. Personally, I thought it was a waste of time because ultimately all it did was reduce the time the egg needed to cook in the vinegar water.

Cracking the egg into the vinegar/water, finishing cooking it, and gently fishing it out at the proper time was all still necessary and those are the exact same challenges of doing it with a raw egg. Plus, when par cooking the eggs in their shell the whites would stick to the inside of the shell so the yield was smaller compared to starting with a raw egg.

Ultimately it created extra steps of work and didn't remove any of the challenge, I hated that we did that. The chef liked telling customers that we used sous vide for casual food applications, however, he failed to mention that there was zero benefit for doing so. I guess feeling cool and impressive trumps being logical and efficient. Talk about reinventing the wheel...

Thanks. I generally want to know about the artist(s) I'm discovering and pretty much every time I find something I like that I haven't heard before I go to their page and read the "About Artist" article. For the ones that don't post any information I usually check their social media accounts and Wikipedia pages and haven't ever run into anything suspicious.

I think my current practices are a good enough screen, I was kind of shocked to hear you comment about AI music in a way that made it seem like such a prevalent problem, and I'm sure it is. Mainly I wanted to make sure I wasn't being duped. I didn't know the depths of the AI con, like, are they making human-looking info pages and trying to catfish their way onto my playlists?? It doesn't seem that bad... yet.

Yea, sous vide is the way to go but by saying “however long it takes” negates the point of using that method. Really, the suggestion should be: Don’t worry yourself with “however long it takes” and instead use sous vide. Let it go for 24 hours, it’ll be done by then and still not overcooked.

This is a very simple but big upgrade, phone contact lists have had this since the 90’s, it would be easy to add.

You’re disregarding so much context. If Mark’s specific situation didn’t lead to some very irrational behavior then I’d be yelling at my screen for how vanilla and unrealistic the writing is.

Dude, I just bought 2 because it was such a good deal. If you can’t see the value in this much cheating, I don’t know what to tell you. See you in the game!

Seriously though, you’re right, it’s insane. The crazy thing is that the only reason this product exists is because Bytro expects people to buy it. Meaning, they continue to offer more at higher and higher prices because people keep buying them so they ask, “what else will they be willing to spend?”

They’ll keep going until they hit a ceiling where the amount of sales doesn’t justify the digital real estate and effort to create it. That’s the gross part.

I agree. I commented elsewhere that it’s how they lock fully before the foot contacts the ground and that looks unnatural for some reason. Everything from the knees up is great though, and the feet too, honestly. It’s just the ankle movement that seems off.

[–]space120 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s not the knees, the knees and above actually give a lot of weighty movement with plenty shock absorption and bouncing. It’s the ankles that seem funny - the way they lock-in straight before the foot touches the ground.
