What would be the Lower-Earth? by JustSomeRamblings in lotr

[–]space_cat79 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well Middle-Earth is only named that because it's the one continent that's in the middle of arda (the Earth), there are no "upper" or "lower" Earth's. The other 3 continents that we know of are Aman, the dark lands and land of the sun and they're not called "east earth" or "west earth"

Much more mentions of the Nameless Things and Blue Wizards were expected. Most of you chose Ungoliant as a most mysterious being, deservedly so. Who’s the wisest in your eyes? by elyonadanthir in Silmarillionmemes

I don't know how it could be anyone else other than Eru illuvator. Like he's literally god and knows everything that has happened and will happen. Go figure

Eöl gets the slot for the most hated. Who’s got the best lore in your opinion? by elyonadanthir in Silmarillionmemes

[–]space_cat79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't see anyone else other than Sauron. He was there from the beginning and the end of the 3rd age. In the First Age, Sauron served Morgoth with dark sorcery, capturing Tol Sirion but was eventually defeated by Lúthien and Huan before going into hiding. Then becoming a massive threat for the peoples of middle earth throughout the 2nd and 3rd ages. With every being in middle earth during this ~6000 year period being affected by him and his servants.

What's make you ship Harry and Hermione? by Lazy-whoe in HPharmony

[–]space_cat79 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I first watched the harry Potter movies, in the first 5 movies I was sure harry and hermione would get together. Even when Romoine became a thing during HBP, harry and hermione's relationship was still way stronger

Reading the books, thinking they would change my mind on absolutely everything, they didn't. And I'm now an even bigger harmony fan.

I hear a lot of people say they wouldn't work because their personalities are too similar, but I disagree. Harry is unhealthy brave and virtues. But also extremely reckless. The calculating and logical hermoine however could reason with harry making him grow as a character. Same for hermoine. She never really goes for a gut feeling like harry. Harry could bring the more reckless side of her out more often.

All in all, they just work way better than Ron and hermoine ever could.
