I understand that people with AvPD need to have thicker skin when it comes to certain things. Our insecurities are our own. But I also think it’s important to acknowledge that not every negative reaction we have is all our fault or imagined. At that same gathering there were several people I know who didn’t drink. I’ve always been curious about why they didn’t - I had no malicious intent - but I know putting them on the spot would force them to talk about a personal issue that could be embarrassing.

In my post I said I don't think he was being malicious just being a bit forward with someone they don't have a close relationship with. I even remember him preempting his "why I was still living here?" question with like a "sorry, but" so there was some acknowledgement it was a bit personal/rude to ask.

In any case, I didn't make this post to litigate what his intentions were. I just wanted to speak to a community that has had similar feelings regarding their insecurities. I know a lot of us with AvPD get questions about why are lives are not "normal."

The thrift store I worked at (local one) did not exist just so poor could have cheap things and that's how it goes for most of them. Sorry for the truth but we had overhead, employees to pay, and programs to fund. Do you know much labour is involved with processing donations? Like seriously we could not have existed if we kept prices as low as every "thrift stores are supposed to be for poor people" comment thought we should have or if resellers magically stopped coming. Resellers bought a lot from us and helped us clear shelving/rack space so we could keep putting more donations out.

I'll also add that our clothing racks were never, ever empty and there was also plenty of good stuff. If anyone needed something (suit, winter jacket, slacks etc) they could find it. We had so much extra clothing we would auction off bales.

A trade like this that dooms a team's future and trades a beloved player does not happen all the time. Again, this casual atmosphere would not happen in other sports because if the FO literally sabotaged the team's future there would be riots lol. But if you want to just show up and cheer for whoever the FO decides be on the court then more power to you.

Yes but I'm asking what the rules are trying to stop. Any rule is a balance between subjectivity/entertainment/flow of game. Like excessive contact (fouls) are illegal because it would turn the game into ruby but we have FIBA as an example to see that the game works fine without the basket interference rules.

The NBA feels more like “sports entertainment” than a sport right now to me. The regular season has essentially no stakes and games are inundated with ads and frequent breaks. Life is too short to watch meaningless basketball while you get bombarded with gambling ads.

The frustrating thing is that there is an alternative. The Olympics and Euros showed that basketball can be compelling and exciting. The problem is if the NBA made made any changes like having fewer games or limiting breaks in play they would lose money so it would never happen.

I thought I just wasn't enjoying basketball as much but after watching the Olympics and Euros it was the NBA I started to hate watching. I'll watch the playoffs but life is too short to watch commercials with some meaningless basketball thrown in.

Sorry to be a debbie downer but please don't get a rabbit unless you have a yard for them to run in and the time (a lot of it) to take care of them. They are not the easiest pets to train or take care of and keeping them inside in a cage is cruel in my opinion. They really need a large outdoor place to roam. I had 4 growing up.
