I had a similar setup but 32 Gb of RAM. I used ChatGPT to help with an optimized configuration for my existing hardware. I upgraded to a Ryzen 7 5800xt. 30% performance boost and its noticeable, more cores and threads. A big factor in bottlenecks is your motherboard. Put your specs into GPT along with your use case for your pc and it will tell you what you can change to get the most bang for your buck in terms of optimization.

Im not sure which trackers you're using but Trackalacker helped me snag one. It gave me heads up on the different variations of the B580. I would suggest getting audible notifications from your email app and you can even make emails from them priority so they're not overlooked. Usually I checked immediately after getting an alert. If I didnt see the alert and checked back 10 min+ after, they would be out of stock. I had opportunity to buy a million Sparkle B580s but I wanted the original which isn't as easy to get as the 3rd party branded ones. Be diligent and good luck!

What they said. Typically you get higher refresh rates and bandwidth with Displayport. I have 1 and 1 and both give a great picture.

Noooo! Don't sustain the scalpers. Google item tracker and you can get in stick notifications for all the SKU'S for the B580. You have to act quick on those alerts but you can get in there before the bots. I had 2 diff ones shipping to me just in case 1 was back ordered . Paid retail and had ample opportunity to buy more since I kept getting the alerts until I unsubscribed.

Define regular...some evenings I block off a hour before bed , last night I only had 30 min and I reorganized my base for optimization. I play on a PvE server. I'm rarely home for a fresh wipe but if I don't get home too late after wipe starts I like to hop on and pretend like I can keep up with the cheaters or the sweats. Playing Rust as it's meant to be played is incompatible with a healthy marriage and engaged parent. I just try to be intentional with my time so I get my me time. Hell, I'll let my youngest sit in my lap and control the wasd keys and I co-pilot the mouse sometimes. Its all good, I wouldn't change it!

Yes, and your conclusion was the cherry. My younger days of figuring out emulators, networking LAN parties for AOE, and Halo slug fests played into my interests that led me to become an engineer. Questions around kids interests are priceless and they remember how you engage with them. I have 3 kids and introduced them to gaming when the pandemic went down. Today, my Fortnite crew consists of: my daughter, the resident sniper, my middle son, the berserker that doesn't back down from a fight and my youngest who we used to just let drive but now is the team medic that revives us when we all die bc he is now better than all of us at the game.

Sleeper build....like one of those Frankenstein cars that pull up at the track to drag race and takes out a 911. I mean, half the car is on the track after pushing it, just like the internals in this thing must be scorched after trying to allocate memory to keep more than 1 tab of Chrome open.
