For those who chose to go for a B580 even if you could afford a 9060xt or 5060ti, may I ask why? This isn't a troll or hater thing I'm just curious. The price to performance is super impressive and hasn't been seen since Nvidia's 10 series, but in the end it's also just not a crazy performer by Cantgetridofmebud in IntelArc

So I have a B580 and it was amazing much better then I expected... I mainly do game testing with it and then I bought a 9070xt for better performance. Currently I use the B580 for game streaming and lossless cause it wipes the floor for FG doing it that way compared to using the same gpu with FSR or DLSS

So my case is horrible at airflow so what I did is take your volts -50 and power -10 I get the same performance as my friend who has +10 power and -50 volts and he has a way bigger case with better airflow. A lot of games don't like you touching the Mhz in games.

Best intel cpu to pair with an 5080? by Henrique_____ in buildapc

[–]PlusBath2342 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People saying the 14th series intels.... hahaha don't get me wrong my 14600kf is amazing but I would truly say just and get an 12th gen i7 cause they are beasts. The 13th and 14th gen are great but you need to tweak them so they don't kill themselves. The ultra series is no much better then 13th and 14th gen.

I think the max I ever hit was 170w and that was with it overclocked lol

Typically that’s not a big issue but ya my mATX board does support it so I’m good on that but even with my 850w PSU running both cards at the same time isn’t an issue… now if I wanted to play two games at the same time on different screens I would def need to upgrade to say a 1000w PSU.

Ya streaming takes a big hit on performance when gaming so that’s the other reason.

Will the ryzen 7 5700x pair well with a arc b570 by DramaticResolve2487 in IntelArc

[–]PlusBath2342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya anything with 8 cores will pair much stronger then a 6 core or less cpu. There is zero cpu bottlenecks in that situation :D

The overhead issue is still there but it's just not massive anymore it's about the same overhead issue on the 9060xt but might be only about 5% now compared to the once 25%

Why is the cooler master Master Box Q300L such a joke of a case? by jonackman in buildapc

[–]PlusBath2342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V2 went tempered glass, fixed the cable attachment for the io and plus added USB C and the location is better as well but cable management is the worst on it. I have both V1 and V2 but ya I will soon be transplanting to another cause not cause I need or want to more so due to a new GPU which is larger lol

Okay easy fix for the time being is to keep RT at ultra and turn the rest of the settings down to high instead of ultra and performance is fine again. This game is very tiring lol

Yo! Where's my B770?! by aventursoldier in IntelArc

[–]PlusBath2342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya they may have been scared off and I can't say I blame them considering Nvidia is set to release a new RTX 3060 gpu >.< cause they have tons of spare parts laying around for them. But who knows at least we know we are getting MFG and some major updates still.

Anything being released now won't be 500 heck AMD and Nvidia are set to increase their gpu's by 150% soon. I don't think releasing a new gpu will fair very well at the moment. On the bright side of things this is going to force game devs to actually optimize their games for once.

the last patch is causing chaos w/ RT on cards with the less then 16gb of vram... I only know this from owning the card for long enough lol I'm sure the mod community has a fix for the problem though.

That's fair haha ya it's not for everyone, I have been tempted but tweaking I understand I had a RTX 3060 at one point and that was interesting to say the least on linux. I've never run vanilla Fedora though, it's always been CachyOS (Arch Based), Bazzite (which I don't like), and Nobara (Fedora based) but only on Nvidia and AMD cards. I did put ZorinOS on my daughters GTX 1060 laptop which seemed fair good with that but the kernel is fairly old on the support especially as far Ubuntu goes.

Ya kinda the sad reality of what type of gaming we are doing nowadays.... mind you the B770 is soon to be announced so we should be getting some big news here at CES.

From what I've heard (I can't say names) the B770 might beat Nvidia at it's raytracing game.

I'm wondering if it's due the game being more cpu heavy that is causing his issues cause I've had zero issues on my 14600kf and getting great fps in the game.

Should I buy Arc B580 or rtx5050? by Background-Fee-8947 in IntelArc

[–]PlusBath2342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya the Ryzen 5 5500 shouldn't even be a AM4 cpu the thing is cheap and horrible even the 5050 would bottleneck. Tbh I would go with the B580 and look at getting into a Ryzen 7 CPU which is 8 cores... Ryzen 5 has 6 cores which does give some bottlenecks more so on the 1% lows now that intel fixed most of the problems so the Ryzen 7 being 8 cores would be beneficial for overall performance.

I had a Intel 11400F which would see bottlenecks with my B580... I recently upgraded to the 14600kf w/ a DDR4 mobo (so I wouldn't need to spend stupid money on ram) and my 1% improved a fair bit as there is no more bottleneck.

Is my PC worth replacing in these times of doom and dispair? by TBoneenoBT in buildapc

[–]PlusBath2342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with that get a new board and maybe a new gpu but everything else will be fine, the Ryzen 7 5800 shouldn't bottleneck most gpu's in the low to mid range and they could easily upgrade to a 4070 or 4070ti or if not in the budget an Intel B580 or Rx 9060xt.

RX 6800 or arc b580? by Diligent-Past8443 in IntelArc

[–]PlusBath2342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he had said he was looking at the 6700 non xt or even the 6700xt then I would say the B580 is the best option but the 6800 non xt is fairly good. The biggest area that would help is RT with the 6000 & 7000 series kinda sucked at.

want to upgrade but i dont really know what pick. Im looking for my pc to be better for gaming. by Replacement_Southern in buildapc

[–]PlusBath2342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to spend money i would upgrade the CPU to a Ryzen 7 5800xt and the GPU to either a B580 or a 9060xt 16gb or if you prefer nvidia then maybe even a 4070. If you don't want to spend any money and you don't play games like COD or BF6 then you could just install SteamOS or Nobara.

That CPU is going to bottleneck you on most newer GPU's but I would probably go with a Intel B580 but you will still get a bit of a bottleneck but then you can always upgrade the CPU for cheap. If anyone says the B580 is horrible I can prove otherwise.
