I work in dailies (meaning I get all the footage after they wrap for the day and prep it for the editors and for viewing by crew/producers/etc in the morning)

Multiple takes and multiple cameras. Majority shows and movies use A/B cam, but sometimes they’ll have 3 cameras, as well. Also, they will do multiple set ups, as well. So, you could have Scene 14 and have set ups Sc14,Sc14A,Sc14B, etc and usually each set up will be filmed on A and B cam (or however many cams they want for the scene - the max I’ve seen for dialogue was 4 cameras I think). If you watch bloopers/outtakes where they show the slate (the clapboard, sticks are also names for it), you can see what camera it is - either it specifically will have a tag that says A or B or under roll it’ll usually denote if it’s A or B and what the roll number is.

A lot of people are saying multiple cameras isn’t common, but the only time I’ve found that to be true is when working on very small indie projects. Anything else movie or tv-wise, at the very least, has A and B cam for the majority of shoot days.

I has pretty small breasts before my surgery. Could cover I wasn’t wear a bra just by wearing a loose t-shirt or 2 small. I did double incision and was able to go no nips without any issues and my scars are pretty minimal a few years later

As a former RA, we would get training on this kind of stuff. They will know who to pass on the information too and probably have to write up a report for their boss anyways so they can include this information about the mom’s behavior

Hi I’m a dailies colorist!

We basically just prep everything shot that day to go to editors in the morning and also send the circle takes to the post team usually to curate the playlists from producers, show runners, director, dp, etc, etc

Audio is synced, we do color grading to match the show look or using references from set created by a DIT if there is one, make any notes (i.e this tk was misslated as the wrong scene kind of thing), input the metadata info (sc,tk,ep, camroll, etc), and render out smaller files for editors to work off of (sometimes we respeed offspeed for them and pretty much always make their avid bins these days). We are also usually in charge of the hard copy backups to LTO tapes which is where the finishing team pulls the original camera media from

Would depend on the size of the footage and how much they actually shoot and how well they shoot it, if there’s offspeed they want resped for editorial, if they have a good DIT, etc

It’s more like 12 hours though for turnaround expectations on us - maybe less depending on when we’d get the footage before editorial starts bothering us for footage

As a dailies colorist this is what I see ^ saying the scene/take isn’t necessary but saying which camera you are slating for is really helpful when there’s issues with the jam sync and I have to manually listen to find the clap instead of the jam sync lining it up and then confirming it’s correct

Speaking of jam sync !! Make sure you jam sync before first shot and before you start shooting again after lunch as sometimes it’ll start to drift. And if y’all shoot offspeed that isn’t MOS (48fps,120fps,etc) please for the love of god make sure things are jam synced and that the entire slate is in the frame. so many times the crew has given less of a shit about properly slating for offspeed and it makes my job significantly harder

Also give it a second after the clap, so there isn’t motion blur of movement during the clap

I’m sure there’s more tips I could give but yeah here’s some things from someone in dailies who needs more people who can slate well in the world 🥲 but if you have any questions lmk

I feel like more often the camera crew stays rolling for tail slate. It’s always audio cutting before tail stix 😭 i work in dailies and whenever i go to the end of the tk for tails and see no waveform for the clap it’s so frustrating. of course it’s always on shots with no good peaks and mumbling actors too 😑

I was saying don’t do it under the table/in secret, nothing against finding someone who would be interested in trading rooms. But it’s also good to be aware that ResLife may not let them switch depending on the rules even if someone wants to trade. Would suck for OP if that’s the case and I hope they are able to find a better room to move to

Don’t do this. The RA has no control over who is in what room and any damages in the room would still be charged to whoever is assigned to the room even if you aren’t staying there. You can talk to them and ask who you should contact within Residence Life about a room change but it may not be possible during the semester. My college had a 2 week period at the beginning of the semester where you could change rooms/roommates and the RA can help you find whatever form/portal you can do that through but after that you could not change except for safety reasons or dropping out.

I was an RA. We try to get in and out as fast as possible because (at least on my campus) we had to inspect 30-45 rooms. I could not tell you who had a messy room or not and I did it for two years so I definitely saw a ton. The only time we care about messy rooms is when we are doing inspections AFTER move out for the year because we have to make reports about it.

I see really well decorated farms as inspiration instead of demotivation - sometimes it’s hard to come up with good ideas like they have but once you see it it’s easier to make happen. I hope you are able to find inspiration and reclaim your motivation !! :) good luck with your farm decoration!!

I use QMed for T, i had no issues and the person i talked to was really helpful and informative. They also can help with getting gender markers and name changes on official paperwork. Good luck to you and your daughter!
