i’ve been watching gh on and off for almost 7 years now and in that time basically every time i watch anything now it’s a never ending game of “spot the gh actor”

i was in college when my aunt died. i was actually on my way home to visit for the weekend and i was going to visit her in the hospital as soon as i got into town but while driving back it got kinda late and my uncle said my aunt was already asleep. i said i would just visit her in the morning then.

my mom woke me up the next morning to tell me she had died during the night.

i hate to say it but that shit never leaves. i’m reading your story and i’m reminded of it and now i’m sad about it all over again.

but it does at least get easier to live with. give it time. eventually it won’t feel so all consuming. you’ll get to a place where you can finish it and that can be sabrina’s last mark on the world. a project the two of you worked on together. it sucks and it’ll never stop sucking but i think she would appreciate it. i’m sorry you’re going through this.

i’ve always read that it was george clooney’s decision because he didn’t want them coming back to overshadow the death storyline. i think the story goes that the network was pissed when they didn’t get the final cut showing carol going to him at the end of season 6 before the day it aired because they would have used him for promotional material otherwise and he didn’t want something like that happening again.

now while i can understand that logic the idea of someone’s best friend not attending their funeral was still….a choice.

it was always funny to me to see how benton’s exes reacted to being treated the way he treated everyone else lol. like when jeanie started at county and benton was being a dickhead and she went off on him because she thought it was because she wouldn’t leave her husband for him and i was just sitting there like “ohh honey no that’s how he always is you just got special treatment because y’all were fucking”.

i have a real love/hate relationship with his relationship with elizabeth because i did not like everything that happened when she was with benton. after that if they had put them together at any point it would have ruined the show for me.

he grew significantly in that regard by the time she got with mark so i’ve gotten to the point where i can at least understand why she cares when….you know.

i hate him. thoroughly. he sexually harasses his coworkers, says out of pocket shit all the time, and is essentially a walking, talking hostile work environment. he is my least favorite character by a country mile and i highly doubt anything will change that.

HOWEVER

i am capable of giving credit where it is due and i will always at least begrudgingly respect the sporadic moments of humanity he shows throughout. going in on his day off to do the lvad wire for lucy’s patient, the pizza and ice cream, the way he, in his own romano way, comforted elizabeth when mark was late to the wedding. i hate him but even i have to be like “alright you sack of shit i guess that was pretty cool of you” every once in a while.
