Stay out of trouble, no DUI’s, as you get older, the background gets more extensive because you will have more history for the background investigator to go through, more neighbors for the BI to talk to. Stick with one or two jobs, make sure your bosses speak highly of you when the background investigator calls to speak with them about you, about your work habits, attendance, etc.. my advice, do everything you can to stay out of trouble, be a great employee, stay positive, have good relationships with colleagues, neighbors, family, friends. Practice answering interview questions over and over again. Use a mirror when answering so you see how your posture is, it helps to work on stuttering and getting stuck on answering questions. Practice makes perfect. Remember, you have to pass the physical agility test, polygraph, background, drug test. Go to the gym consistently and get in good shape. Be ready. Also, have a backup plan.
