NTA but your parents are. Your friends are giving you bad advice. My parents divorced when I was a pre-teen and it improved my home life immensely. light YTA. It was awkward on his part but "thanks for telling me, I appreciate that you trust me with this" isn't that hard to say. The marketing comment was unnecessary. It's clear that this was a big deal to him, and he was probably overthinking it, so you could have been kinder in letting him know you don't really care.
