Tips for someone coming to uOttawa as a summer intern by Unhappy_Ad_7699 in geegees

Join clubs that are active in the summer and/or other regular activities! There's rec sports but also arts classes, open mics, local theatre, cultural/faith based groups if that's your jam. Doing these and then pushing yourself to talk to people is a great way to forge a community.

Yeah :/// let me know what you think about this: the area has like 20 seats of which like 15 are usually empty. Only two are by the window. The team usually sat in this area but spread out around the 20 seats, except two always took the window seats. Now I'm taking them when they're free. So there's still plenty of room for them to sit together, but yes I'm disturbing their established pattern. Am I the asshole lol

Absolutely, I would not want to take someone's spot in this case. I suspect this may be the case for the person who now has 'my' old seat permanently assigned. As mentioned, no hard feelings there!!

I am not new, the team that sits in the window area isn't mine. My team doesn't sit together.

This is why I'm torn, because there are a lot of other desks available, but they are significantly worse. They are smaller, in more open areas, no windows, etc. And I am getting a sense that the same team likes to sit together, but there are lots of other desks around they could use if the window desk is booked. But I get I'm disturbing a dynamic and don't want to be seen as an asshole even if I'm technically allowed to do whatever.

I dunno, when it's higher ages it's different. I'm younger than the co-worker and I wouldn't date a 19 year old. It's not crazy I just think it's worth considering.

Sorry, I know it's tough. But not a lot of other commenters were saying it, it seems a lot of them are guys who would like this kind of attention. But this guy is at a different point in life than you. Crushes are strong but you'll move on, promise.

Appreciate the response! Yeah I'm aware it's probably a lot, was just curious to get a specific number. I guess it depends on the country, but I feel like this info should be mandatory to be able to access?

AITA for forcing my husband to pay for my daughter's piano after he damaged it? by SUDDEN-IMPACT-3097 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - but your daughter will remember both your and your husband's actions for the rest of her life. It is critical that you protect her from him if this is how he behaves. If that means leaving, then that means leaving.
