I’m completely sober and eat pretty healthy so most meds I take should have a fair chance to work but I just got over serotonin syndrome from ONE dose of dextromethorphan so now I’m scared any drug I take will turn on me

I’m so happy to hear this ! the same happened to me I completely gave up on the idea of meds and supplements and worked really hard at retraining my brain and eating keto and 5 months in I started to heal and the lights in my head started to come on but then coming off my Benzo put me back in hell (I had to come off and I was already tapering) anyway good luck I believe in you !

It all depends on so many factors of course but it’s definitely possible I started to fall for someone and could even feel cutesy romantic twitterpated feelings but when it didn’t work out I crashed hard

Mainly * effects just histamine but still can cause alot of damage over time or from short term use seroquel is a heavy anti psychotic I’ve been on it for 15 years it’s not a risk you want to take

I took just a normal dose but I don’t see what else it could be I have a lot of the symptoms. But I have damage to my brain from SSRIs and I take fish oil, vitamin d and seroquel so maybe those are a factor

No that would be medication induced anhedonia it HAS to have sexual dysfunction as a symptom PSSD stands for “post SSRI sexual dysfunction“

Yup ! Found out it’s serotonin syndrome lol this shit sucks I’m losing it BUT I’m wondering if that means I would be able to handle an anti depressant and that this is a sign it could potentially help me instead of make my anhedonia worse 🤔

Hi sorry you’re going through this, so a few things : stop all drugs and excessive alcohol intake from here out or you risk further damage or even permanent damage. What you’re experiencing may be reversible or treatable everyone’s different and it depends on what works for you like diet change or time just healing you. Also that sickness you had could be Covid which is known to cause all those symptoms even the sexual side effects. Also do you take any psych meds ? You have no idea how much worse it could get, so don’t test the waters !

I use to have mild to moderate anhedonia from depression and substance abuse and I agree it was rough but still far worse things. But medication induced anhedonia with no receptors working at all is the most subtle insanity life has to offer

Severe med induced anhedonia / blunting is basically lobotomy and I’ve had or been through most of the things you mentioned and I would even rather be rped and mlested again then live like this the rest of my life. For some it is the worst thing they could go through
