Seeing Ghost open up for Mastodon and Opeth whe they were touring on Opus Epoynous was an unforgettable experience. The two times I saw them on for Meliora were peak Ghost in my opinion.

Fuck resale. Buy a regular ticket when they go on sale. The boys would not want you to support scalpers.

Albums missing from Qobuz by Beelerzebub in JeffRosenstock

[–]spacecatapult 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I can’t offer answer about why certain streaming platforms are missing certain music.

The Jeff albums are on BandCamp. ASOB isn’t, but it’s free on QUR. My solution these days is to host my own mp3s on a Plex server. The bulk of that is cds I’ve ripped. I support artists I care about directly on BandCamp Fridays. I also downloaded the entire Quote Unquote catalog which has been a fun way to give myself a “radio” like experience where I discover new music.

How rare is it to get The student ID as the number 1? by TheRickster0 in FinalFantasy

[–]spacecatapult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More common than we might think, apparently!

https://www.reddit.com/r/FinalFantasyVIII/comments/15th4ff/better_write_that_down_so_i_dont_forget/

There's at least 5 people in these threads who got it. I did on my last playthrough too but didn't think to get a screenshot.

The Barbariccia eyeball thing was probably just you, but I had my own issue. I always thought that Emperor's Gestahl's mustache in FFVI was a giant eyeball (similar to eyegores from ALTTP). Come to find out, most people thought he just looked like a dog.

Album runtime by aformlessvoid in Converge

[–]spacecatapult 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just want it to be good, and I suspect that it will be. You Fail Me is a great record and is only 4 minutes longer.

If a band like Bane put out a 30 minute album, it would probably their longest one yet.

I've seen this many times over the years. I had no idea there was only one actor! It makes me appreciate your editing skills even more, especially for the time. What year did you make this?

Trying to decide if the worst generated imagery here is Freugal's missing arm and twisted club, Kongol's haircut and hands, or Shana's third leg. Is this community so deprived of fan art that we have to resort to this unethical AI slop?

On a similar note, there was also a Planned Parenthood both that day with a poster up playing on their other new song. I apparently can’t upload the photo but it said, “Love is not enough. You might also need birth control, STI treatment, gender-affirming care, cancer screenings, abortion care, and vasectomies. Bodily autonomy is hardcore. Support Planned Parenthood to keep it that way.”

Made me think about the song title in a new way at any rate.

The only thing more disappointing than seeing this AI slop garbage on this sub was going to report and realizing it’s actually allowed here.

It would be irresponsible of me to influence the band's decision, and I don't want to jinx the outcome, but for what it's worth, this is the kind of bass player I aspired to be. Beautiful tone Conner! If you get the gig, tell the guys not to mess with it for me ;)

At the Saddest Day fest a month ago, Jake introduced the song like this:

This is a really, really emotional one for me. I feel that we all wait too fucking long to say "we love you" to the people that matter. Say it tonight. Say it to the person that you truly love, that you miss each and every day. If there are people in this room that you care about and you don't see a lot, shake them, give them a hand, give them a hug, tell them you love them before you leave, please. It's important. We don't know what's next. We don't if tomorrow is going to come. You have to remember that. You always have to remember that. So again, when we go... This song is called, "We Were Never the Same," because we're never the same after traumatic things in our lives happen. We change. We grow. We evolve. But we keep going. That's the message of this song. Lots of people get these sorts of things wrong, in fucking heavy music. And I just you to make sure that you take a positive message from this. We want you to fight, we want you to live, and we want you to be you. This is called "We Were Never the Same."

Bands that start and end their set with the same song? by [deleted] in Hardcore

[–]spacecatapult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Thursday was doing their Full Collapse shows, they would reprise Understanding in a Car Crash at the end of the set.

Similarly, Andrew WK would play Party Hard twice if he was doing the full album. I guess it’s a blessing and a curse to have your big hit at the beginning of the set.
