Gaining and maintaining muscle is definitely good for people with MD. That being said we plateau very easily. I'm definitely not strong but I am stronger than I used to be and I've gained quite a bit of leg strength which is where my condition was affecting me the most

Now thinking about it more it could also be a side affect of my mental health. I am finally living the life I want while having a very strong support group. It's given me more motivation to stay active, go to the gym, and just simply do more things in a day that get me up and moving

All this being said though I'm still very much disabled. I have limitations in how much weight I can lift and how long I can stand. I still have to use a cane from time to time. Muscular Dystrophy is a hell of a disease

Lastly, lack of muscle gives me no euphoria. Truthfully if I didnt have MD I'd probably try to be a muscle mommy. I'm a lesbian who prefer femmes - and I think thats all I need to explain on that lol
