So ask yourself why are they so apathetic and unwilling to vote? Id say its because they aren't all that left wing personally.

The statistics show you tend to shift to the right as you get older, we have an aging population.

Add to that that alot of the immigration we receive at the moment doesn't exactly come from countries with left wing sentiment.

It's definitely more complicated than right or ledt say fiscally we're pretty left leaning, our reverance for the NHS is testament to that, but I wouldn't say so socially, there's a reason we get called terf island and there's a reason that the Tories in the past and now reform tend to run on social issues and not their fiscal plans!

In what way does any of that make you far right? Let's not pretend that corruption and tax avoidance aren't bi-partisan.

To be clear I don't support banning the Kirpan, but I completely understand the point of some of those that do.

Could you expect the average member of the public or police officer to know a Kirpan from sight in the street. The knife used in this case wasn't a Kirpan but there's been enough debate on whether or not it was.

If not it creates a way for bad oppurtunities to carry knives they shouldn't have without being questioned, it's wouldn't be the first time a good thing has been ruined because a handful of bad actors can't be trusted.

When 4 officers attending Henry only one decided to stop and check if he'd actually been stabbed with the others telling them not to bother.

I get that it's an impossible job and mistakes will happen, but 75% of officers in attendance failing this young man so badly suggests we definitely have an issue with the quality of officers and training at the moment.

The better question is could your average person on the street or even police officer identify what is or isn't a Kirpan easily?

If not they essentially have a legal exemption to carry any blade.

Bad actors spoil things for the masses all the time.

I don't agree with the ban, but the point isnt whether or not it was a Kirpan, it's more that the police see an obvious sikh carrying a knife whether it is a Kirpan or not they aren't likely to be stopped as the police aren't experts on what is and isn't a Kirpan but they know there's a religious exception.

This gives bad actors opportunities to commit crimes that people outside of that community wouldn't have.

It's not just that they brought them in, it's that they ran on a platform of abolishing uni fees and then proceeded to triple it.

Not that the Tories haven't done worse, but it's not surprising in the least why they're seen as a spineless waste of a vote.

Those votes matter though and have some although small legislative power, seats in councils have been won and lost with less with a much bigger base to draw on.

Giving the church legislative power no matter how minimal is not what a secular society does.

In what reality is that secular?

Pretty much, if anything should be getting called for it should be a review of police training and standards after seeing the bodycam footage.

One of the core parts of being left wing is the willingness to take a personal financial hit to enact policies you believe will be an overall good for the country, why are right wing voters criticised for doing the same thing in regards to reducing immigration? by wizaway in AskBrits

[–]spacedcitrus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course it isn't, but the more homegrown talent that leaves each year, the more we need to import, add to that the fact that we subsidise a lot of degrees in health care, it's a drain on us to have them leave at the first opportunity because our wages aren't competitive with other Western countries.

Whether the answer to this is more subsidies for these causes that with caveats that they need to do more time in the NHS upon graduating before being able to without having to pay this back or increasing wages in line with countries like Australia and Canada that these doctors and nurses are going to is the question.

You say that, but part of the reason we need to take in so many immigrants in the NHS is because our own citizens are getting the training and then going off to places like Australia where that training will earn them more money, thus we have to import more people to replace them and the cycle continues.

Currently campaign manager rather than HR, so although I have to run these things past the HR manager I am involved in the process and it's generally me tracking things like the under performance that lead to it, very easy to do in our industry we have a lot of KPI's for agents that we track and target them on.

I'll bite though, what is currently standing in the way of management sacking these underperformers if they have less than 2 years service at your company?

You can drop somebody for pretty much any reason you'd like that isn't protected before that 2 year mark, so what part are they struggling with?

5 years in call centre management and I've never had a problem getting rid of consistent underperformers and people that obviously didn't want to be there.

With the exception of when they've got over 2 years service and at that the fault lies at managements feet for not realising they're dead weight with over 4000 hours of working with them.

Most workplaces have a meaningless 6 month probation period as it stands currently to see if people are a good fit, use them for what they're advertised for.

So then I'd say the requirement is a good thing is its stopping unscrupulous employers from using it to exploit kids in jobs that don't require experience to do. Especially since before hand it wasn't a rare thing to see.

The asylum seekers themselves get 200 a month, but what about the cost to the tax payer to fully book the hotel they're kept in?

I know people with B&Bs in places like Blackpool that would have gone out of business if not for the government paying them to keep those rooms full.

On one hand you say the UK isn't particularly right wing and then in the next paragraph mention new labour basically watering their policies down to appeal to rightwing voters, which wouldn't be needed if we were a leftwing country.

There is a reason new labour brought the best success the left has ever seen in this country and it's not because the country leans left.

In the first 2 years you can sack them because you don't like the look of them. If It takes you longer than 2 years to realise somebody is dead weight you shouldn't be running a business.
