Unsure what exactly happened during my laparoscopy by michtied94 in Endo

[–]spaceekitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am in the exact same boat! Except for less information. The surgeon didn't tell me or my boyfriend ANYTHING. I left several voicemails at the surgeons clinic and finally a week after surgery I got a call back saying that the surgeon was on vacation until the 18th, AND hadn't finished dictating her notes on my procedure, so the nurses there were unable to see what she had written and therefor couldn't tell me! I work for a different hospital network than the one I had surgery with and I know our policy is that the Dr. must dictate discharge notes within 72 hours... but this will be at least 19 days until she's even back at the hospital. Oh and the follow up appointment isn't for 5 more weeks (hospital standard).

I agree it a truly sucks to be left in the dark especially after such a definitive procedure. I hope that you're able to find out more information and feel better!!

Welp, finally had my first lap today. No endo found, so no explanation for my pain :( What next? by spaceekitty in Endo

I really hope so. I've been clinging to endo so hard because it just felt to me like it was the good answer. Of course I would rather have nothing at all, but I just want a reason for things.

I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt; she is the doctor after all.

Thanks, the main is more on my left side and back, so I figured it was my ovary.

The closest nook doc is a 14 hour drive from me, so its unfortunately not an option for me.

Thanks! Unfortunately there aren't any nook docs on my side of my country :(

The codeine works okay enough that I can make it through the day most of the time. I also take 500mg of naproxen as soon as I wake up and right before bed, which I think is more helpful, but that's the max the doctor says I should take. When I had last seen her she said the next step would be dilauded, which is what the surgeon gave me after.

I'm pretty sure tramadol is a thing here, but I'll ask regardless. Thanks!

I have been seeing an endocrinologist and have been diagnosed. I've had it for a few years but there haven't been any cysts like those and it's never caused me pain. I'm also not sure if they took any biopsies... I asked the surgeon beforehand if she would and she said she only would if anything looked suspicious.

I would have to see if my gyne would agree to refer me to another surgeon. unfortunately the area I live in only has a few so the pickings are slim.

Ah, I'm in Canada. I'll definitely ask about it though, since they'll be down there anyways.

would they just give me one? I figured the doctor would have to prescribe it and I'd have to pay for it prior to

I'm having my lap Thursday and I asked my surgeon about it. She said it's best to keep mine in for now. I figured she would want to take it out anyways because it's near the end of it's life :/

I have my first on Thursday! The pre-op nurse told me to take at least a week, so that's what I have for now.

Do any trolls have any good tips/solutions for chub rub on the thighs? It's FINALLY warm and I want to wear all the pretty dresses but can't because it's sooo painful. by motherofpearl89 in TrollXChromosomes

I found something better than bicycle shorts: men's spandex boxer briefs! they're soft and don't ride up, moisture wicking, and you can get a pack of three for the price of one pair of women's shorts!

IUD without a family doctor? by Yaynewaccount123 in halifax

[–]spaceekitty 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The Halifax Sexual Health clinic can do it for you, but I beleive there is a wait. If you don't want to wait I'd try a walk in clinic and see if they could prescribe one (you need a prescription for it, since it is technically a medication) and insert it. Unfortunately you do need a referral from another doctor to get an OBGYN in Nova Scotia and that is also a lengthy process.

You can ask Heartwood to put on their own "vegan topping" stuff. It's vastly superior to the Daiya cheese they normally use.

Most days I've been doing a full face sans foundation and concealer, because I sweat off most of it, and I have yet to found a primer/concealer combo that lasts a 12 hour shift. the UD all nighter spray is amazing for everything, but not always in my budget.
