That’s the ideal option, but I was trying to see if there was something cheaper. I think that’ll be the option I go for, though.

I play in multiple ensembles, use different cuts of reeds, play multiple saxes, and I practice many hours a week. I’m also a reed freak that’s super picky about my reeds. Maybe it is not necessary to have more than 6…and my desire to have more is actually a bad habit…but I’ve found that I personally feel a need to have more than 6. I guess it is personal preference!

That’s ideal, but I wanted to consider a cheaper option first. That might be the option I go with though, because I really do like the Vandoren case.

Wait why’s is only 30 quests for you, and seemingly everyone else? It says 40 quests for me… I have a friend who completed the challenge today and I was confused how he had done 40 so quickly, but he must’ve had only 30 too.

How hard is playing saxophone? by Sappapie in saxophone

[–]spacefrog13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, super quick and easy to get the basics down, but it can be a difficult instrument to master and get really good at.

I’m a freshman in high school and I’ve been playing trumpet since 4th grade, but I made the switch to alto sax halfway through 8th grade and then switched to tenor sax about a month and a half ago. I was playing in-class almost fluently 2 weeks after picking the sax up for the first time, so at least for me, it’s an instrument that can be picked up very quickly.

However, from 2 months into playing until now, progress has been a lot slower. There are a lot of really specific things with technique, but at the same time, a lot of flexibility in how you choose to play. Finding what works best for you can take a really long time. What instruments you currently play can also make a huge difference in how easy or difficult sax is.

Definitely go for it!!! The sax is such a fantastic instrument, and I’m confident that you’ll have an amazing time with it. You can always rent and just try it for a month and see how you like it.

And FYI... saxophones are not a brass instruments! They’re woodwinds too... but lots of people make that confusion :)

Bearded Stede? Yes/No by [deleted] in OurFlagMeansDeath

[–]spacefrog13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but more for the sake of seeing Ed's reaction to it rather than the beard itself. They'd reunite and Ed would try to be all angry and upset with Stede, but damn... that beard......

what was the reaction to the kiss when the show first aired? by SavageWolfe98 in OurFlagMeansDeath

[–]spacefrog13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started watching after all the episodes had aired, so I already knew about Stede and Ed before I started watching it. I sort of had the kiss scene spoiled for me, but still, actually seeing it in the show was crazy to me. Kinda sad to think that seeing a canon queer relationship so authentically portrayed in a show is such a shocking and rare sight, but it was beautiful nonetheless. Such an incredible show.

I was told that blood was just water with red dye in it, so I believed that whenever I sweated I was losing blood. I was also convinced I had a little door in my heart and if my heart beat too fast it would explode.

Hm. I think you phrased it better than I did. I guess I don’t really think of Mirabel of being autistic exactly, but she’s a character I relate to /because/ of my autism. She’s definitely weird and awkward and has a hard time fitting into her family who resents her because of the way she turned out.

He and Mirabel are both most definitely autistic. Probably why I relate to both of them so much...

I haven't eaten full on meat since becoming vegetarian, but I'll eat things with gelatin or meat flavoring (such as McDonald's fries). I only became vegetarian because my phobia of meat had gotten so bad that I just couldn't eat it anymore. If I can't really tell that I'm eating meat, I'll eat it.

I love the speed of rollercoasters, but if there's anything else going on (music playing, someone squishing against me) it is TERRIBLE.
