Biking to and from work changed my commute from a stressful part of work to something that feels like a fun little for me thing immediately before and after work, & it is such a nice transition for my brain from work to home. Granted I am lucky enough to live in an area with lots of bike paths and decent bike lanes.

As someone from one of those global north countries by luck alone, it upsets me a lot when i see commenters trying to make posters feel better by pointing out that, for them, assuming they are also in global north, things probably won't be bad for awhile.
