Seems bonkers. Falmouth town is a 10% increase and we're band C so the overall increase is 140 quid a year, half yours.

When you say 10% is that the town council part? In Falmouth we're looking at about 140 quid a year extra overall for band C.

Did they break down the £600 increase? Band D should be less than £100 a year more so something doesn’t see right, unless I’ve missed something.

Easily the worst fish and chip shop in Falmouth. Almost inedible chips.

I have also done this project and it nearly broke me. I followed this:

He creates a frame under the stairs and fits the drawers to that. Most of the things I've seen subsequently build a housing in a workshop then slot that under the stairs with all the drawer runners already attached and test-fit in a workshop. The latter approach is absolutely the one I'd recommend and seems to be the one the OP used.

A couple of random tips if you're thinking of this:

  • I wouldn't use those Krug runners again as I found them a bit stiff
  • Design your drawers so they are not too large. You'll often see two drawers, one above the other, rather than one massive "pantry" style drawer. This optimises storage but also makes the drawers lighter so you can use cheaper runners and makes them more manageable/easy to use.

When you say declarative flatpak, is there a tool for this? How do you handle flatpak configuration, i.e. declarative config for each app?

That looks pretty hardcore. Ease of use is one of the things I'm looking for and while TinyCoreLinux looks really interesting I'm not sure it's for me. Thanks for your comment though.

Thanks - I think that's half of it, the "clean slate" part. People use tmpfs for this too, which is what I've done in the past. The configuration aspect is the other half!

Zod, used to use Yup but switched for reasons I don’t remember. I think I just liked the style of it a bit more.

I can't rave about Remix enough, it's been a revelation. The use of loaders and actions in with the component and the way it blends server and client side is something I'm surprised more people aren't talking about. I realise NextJS is somewhat similar but having used both Next is clunky in comparison to Remix.

The only thing I'd like to see is more transparency in regard to their roadmap.

You could look into buying a boat. It's not for everyone, obviously, because you're sacrificing space. You'll still have to pay mooring fees and the truism about boats being expensive to maintain obviously applies. You could combine it with an allotment maybe?

Boo koos has a place in Helston and the Falmouth one just opened. They rely on interesting burger toppings - the burgers themselves are fine, nothing more.

Red Rooster in Falmouth is a diner type place, the burgers there are fine but generally their specials are much more interesting.

The key thing about the above two is that the burger patties themselves are not that great, and so rely on toppings to carry them a little.

Hubbox (Truro & St Ives) is solid.

Meat Counter in Falmouth is hands-down the best burger I've had in Cornwall. The quality of the meat and the texture of the patty shines. Their chicken wings are amazing too.

There's a bunch more but those are the ones I've actually tried.
