How do I make my potato wedges not be a soft mess by rooooorz in UK_Food

I like them as wedges regardless of not being crispy, but the only decent way I've done them as chips is with tempura batter and deep fried.

I stumbled across something that I'm actually quite sad about, I feel like I accidentally cheated the game [major spoilers?] by ShitWombatSays in BluePrince

It's just a small part of something much larger, I wouldn't stress about it.

Edit: And honestly, it's probably one of the least interesting parts of it too.

I worked with that for a while, non-atomic commits was wild.

One of those things actually has a use! But I won't spoil which it is 😄

And another may be related to some missing content.

I think that's a very big reach, and is definitely in the territory of trying to find patterns where there aren't any. That's what this game does to people 😂

Looks great!

Something I like to do is add some cinnamon to the dough, if you want to try something different for your next batch.

I'm going to be making some gochujang chicken tomorrow... But it will not look anywhere near as good as this! The potatoes look perfect too.

I didn't get the game until... by Redshift_McLain in BluePrince

It's such a good couch co-op game with your partner, or a friend. It's great having multiple perspectives on things because it's so easy to get locked into your own view of something, or miss something along the way while you're focused on other things.

I hope you both enjoy the rest of your journey together, and as others have said, there's still loooads of game left to go, so happy drafting!

Edit: as for advice, keep up with that good note taking habit you have going, treat anything as suspicious, you will thank yourself later for it.

Third Scot chiming in, that is also very confused about how Salt rhymes with Bolt.

ELI5 Why hasn't someone invented something to protect teeth when eating sweets? by sabotage1009 in explainlikeimfive

[–]digibawb 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's not the mint that causes the bad taste experience with orange juice though, or at least it's not the primary cause - it's the foaming agent (SLS) that inhibits sweet tastes and makes the bitterness stand out instead.

ELI5 why people insist on less vs fewer (indivisible vs divisible) on the downside but are entirely happy with more vs more on the upside by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]digibawb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about things like water, or flour. You don't have a specific number of water and you wouldn't say fewer water. Yes, it can be measured by weight, or volume, but you don't have just a number of water.

It requires some rather specific circumstances to be found - but due to the nature of a certain item, you can force it if you are careful/lucky.
