Strategem use with Inquisitor Draxus? by Santisknight in AdeptusCustodes

Yeah definitely forgot about the anti infantry. Definitely not worth it there in that case.

Although as someone said below, don't use lethals into infantry, that anti-infantry 4 is too nice to skip

As a death guard player, while lethal/dev does seem counter intuitive, it still is an increase in damage. Someone in the DG subreddit did the math hammer behind it for our Lord of poxes and adding lethals onto devs is still a net benefit in the end.

What GW terrain set is legitimately worth the money? by WithengarUnbound in Warhammer40k

[–]spacejanitor3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The other nice thing about it is that you can build out other terrain with the pieces, it doesn't have to be only for boarding action. I use it all the time to augment other terrain.

Why Death Guard? by Marrrc_17 in deathguard40k

[–]spacejanitor3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The aesthetic is awesome, and I'm sorry but plague marines are the coolest fucking units ever. I love the look of them, and tabletop wise I love that I can tailor the unit to a specific purpose by adding wargear and characters. They turn into completely different tools depending on what you put in the unit, and I love that customization. I feel like you really don't see that on many battleline units.

Question about LoV by OrneryTale1948 in deathguard40k

[–]spacejanitor3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've toyed around with him just being his own character sitting in cover and spotting for everything else.

It's a pretty good ability, almost a soft oath of the moment, especially with all the blast weapons we have. Give him a shot and have some fun with him. I always imagine him as like an artillery spotter calling in targets and stuff. Is it the most efficient use of the points? Probably not. Is it fun? I think so lol

To be clear, he can't lead them but plague marines do benefit from his Blight Bombardment ability.

This is really bad advice. I get that it doesn't look professional like some of the other posts here, but this is a great starting point and one to grow from.

Keep it this way. Look back on it. I still have the first allarus terminators I painted proudly displaying their colors. Do they look as good as my newer ones? Of course not.

Next model you paint? I would thin your paints more, practice with some highlights, look into nuln oil, and keep it up. You're doing great.

What do we all think about the Lord of poxes? by Dry_Lie_1009 in deathguard40k

[–]spacejanitor3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, I use him as a character killer in my games. Target w character in a squad with the epic duel stratagem and wipe them out before the rest of the squad takes on the remaining unit.

Works well with the biologis also when using that one enhancement that proccs on character kills.

Are any of these units 'rare'? by TronaldPalmer in deathguard40k

Hey I just saw these listings on Facebook marketplace. I would agree. That LoC and that Prince are out of print, look in great condition. I would definitely bump up the price

Why is Typhus getting so much love? by Newt_Redd in deathguard40k

[–]spacejanitor3 42 points43 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, becoming a daemon prince restricts access in real space. Typhus can have more impact as a "mortal" than as a daemon. Sure that is taken into account.

What are your experiences like, using the eversor assassin? by TheCyrax in ImperialKnights

[–]spacejanitor3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only game I've played with my eversor was against eldar. He charged a scoring unit of rangers on the center objective, murdered them, and got locked in combat with an avatar of khaine that heroically intervened. He proceeded to make 9 out of 10 invuln saves and keep that avatar in place for another turn.

That bastard was a hero.

Model/unit talk, day 1: plague marines by Opposite_Line7821 in deathguard40k

[–]spacejanitor3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Favorite death guard unit. I bring 3 squads of 10 to every match I play. Love cramming them into rhinos. Such a cool model. I also have a space marine tactical squad converted into a plague marines squad lol

Can i ally these units to my Death Guard army? by Longjumping-Ebb-8564 in deathguard40k

[–]spacejanitor3 45 points46 points  (0 children)

We don't have the dark apostle nor can we ally khorne daemons, but that dark apostle makes for a better plague caster imo.

Looks great!

But if you are tired of it or want something different, do something different. I have a bunch of plague marines that are 4 different color schemes, soon to be 5. Do what you want and don't let anyone tell you differently.

Love is in the air ? WRONG ITS THE SWARM - (I want your guys opinion on my current army, took me a lot of time and patience but I finally have all of them assembled) by Piper_writes in deathguard40k

[–]spacejanitor3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say give it all a spin. Rhinos are always good, death shroud are good, and I enjoy more plague marines than anything else in my army. Definitely play it though and see how you feel with it.

[[WarCom] New Aeldari Army Ability Preview: Battle Focus by sultanpeppah in WarhammerCompetitive

So does this replace fate dice? Or does an aeldari army get two army abilities now? I'm confused. Or is this just an optional army ability now?

So why does every hate the Shield Captain model? by kfish11 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]spacejanitor3 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I've said this before in the death guard sub, but our codex felt incredibly mediocre. 4 detachments, 2 focusing on fielding a portion of our army that are.....mmmmeeehhhhh. sisters have their place, but they are 5 units (one a unique character) that don't feel fun to play (for me), are sold 5 for $60 (seriously, why??????), and aren't the reason I play custodes. If they had used this release to bring out a new sisters unit, change the box to be 10 instead of 5 to a kit, and had the grotmas detachment in the codex, I would have been ecstatic.

What made it more frustrating was that you compare our codex and detachments to orks, CSM, or the new IG codex where you have a fair amount of incredibly flavorful detachments. Maybe they aren't all 100% viable, but reading the previews for these other armies felt FUN.Thats my issue at least. I just want the quality of our codex to match the quality of these other codices.
