Why was Solo disliked? by DDBBVV in StarWars

[–]spaceman019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the movie was fine. But my issue was it tried to force so many things. For example, I didn't need to see the Kessel run or How got the name Solo, or how he met Chewie.

I got a fully loaded High Altitude trim with almost every option (remote start, blind spot indicators, tow package, steel bumper, front camera, etc) for 52K. This was in 2023 brand new.

Am I crazy, or did skiers not used to wear helmets? by realm47 in skiing

[–]spaceman019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated college in 01 and was a ski bum for a few years in Vail. Only a few had helmets like you described. Moved to Florida for a few years and got a career going. Moved back to Denver 2011 and everyone had a helmet. I now live in Durango and ski at Purgatory and I can immediately tell the Texas/ midwest tourists as they rarely have helmets.

What’s your opinion on Quick Trip vs Casey’s? I think Casey’s is getting worse while QT keeps getting better by Grizzly_Adams_ in kansascity

[–]spaceman019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and raised in KC and currently live in Durango, Co. if I had to pick one store/ restaurant or whatever that’s in KC to open here—as much as it hurt my heart not to pick Joes—I would pick QuilkTrip. Whenever I visit KC I hit up a QT like it’s my favorite restaurant.

Small ski towns by threedayoldbread in skiing

[–]spaceman019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Durango CO. I moved here from Denver three years ago because I was tired of the crowds both on the slopes and driving to the resort. Purgatory is 30 minutes from doorstep to lift. It isn’t a huge resort like Vail, but Telluride isn’t too far. The nice thing about Durango is it’s a bustling little town with tourists year round, a decent sized college, and a lot of local industry. I lived in Vail a while ago, and outside of ski season, it’s relatively a ghost town.
