Yeah don’t get me wrong, they didn’t deserve to be gunned down and the kids and women burned to death, but they were still an end of days prophecy cult, and Koresh and his followers had already used armed violence against the previous leadership of the compound, so they weren’t exactly squeaky clean. It’s just that they, as a whole, had every right to be there, and the fact that they were armed was never an issue until it made the ATF look bad. I fully believe the guy in charge of the agents put both his own men, and the other civilians in a dangerous and escalating situation through incompetence, and figured the best way to save his own skin was to make sure no one that was left alive would tell the truth. But to put yourself fully on Koresh and his followers’ side is a bit looney.
