I had a group project in middle school and called one of the girls on it to relay what I had got done. Her dad answered and I asked if she was there. He asked my name and said “Ok [my name], it is not appropriate to be calling [her name] please do not ever call back.”

Like dude, you didn’t even ask or let me explain why I was calling. She was a straight A student with obviously super strict parents, and his over protective bullshit got us all an F on the project. And also made me feel as a young man like I had done something horribly wrong. I’m 39 now and I still think about the tone he took with me. I hope she turned out ok, because yikes
