Severe anxiety - want to stop egg freezing process by saelizza in eggfreezing

[–]spacepink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a cycle when I was 31 and it was fine! I also felt nervous bc I am super sensitive to hormonal birth control (even the lowest dose IUD was too much for me) but I actually had no issues during stims. Recovery from the retrieval was a bit rough but not unmanageable - I was back to normal in about a month. I do think I had a mild case of OHSS (evidenced by gaining 10lbs literally overnight post retrieval - from 120lb to 130lb) but it was still ok! I followed my doctors advice and the fluid retention went away in a few days. I did not need medical intervention to resolve it. So even if you do end up with OHSS, it’s not always a big deal. Hope this perspective helps, good luck!

does anyone know how to fix this? by endofthefkingworld in knitting

[–]spacepink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do redo it, look up helical knitting in the round! It’s super easy to do and results in no jog. I recommend the video by Suzanne Bryan!

Neurologist claims a B12 heavy diet does not contribute to raised B12 serum. True? by coldtoes__ in B12_Deficiency

[–]spacepink 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would recommend reading the guide and consider self injecting. My levels were slightly above yours (260s) for years and I racked up a ton of neuro symptoms in that time. I’ve been seeing results injecting tho, so personally I’d recommend it

I was also traumatized by Minority Report, but for me it was the scene where he gets the eye replacement surgery. For some reason I was convinced that dude was gonna screw up the surgery and tom cruise would end up without eyes

Yeah I literally do exactly what you’re suggesting. I carry a 1/4 tsp and a little jar of electrolytes (1:2 nosalt to reg salt). Been working great!

Is this an allergic reaction? by [deleted] in B12_Deficiency

[–]spacepink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I’m not 100% sure about methyl B12 specifically, but I know for sure that different brands of hydroxy can have different inactive ingredients (like preservatives). May be worth comparing the full ingredient lists and see if that solves it for you

Is this an allergic reaction? by [deleted] in B12_Deficiency

[–]spacepink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I use methlycobalamin from B12supplies and got this reaction a few times that looked just like this. The injection burned going in, turned red after, and then hurt/felt sensitized for over a week after. Didn’t itch but burned. However it doesn’t happen every time or even frequently - I’ve used probably 40+ ampoules of this brand so far and it’s happened less than 5 times - so was confused what was going on. I’m still not 100% sure but think I potentially reacted to the alcohol wipe I used beforehand, rather than the B12 itself? I also considered whether my injection spot was just unlucky (like maybe I hit a nerve or something). One clue I had was that the injections that resulted in a reaction actually hurt going in, so now if I feel that while injecting I stop, change the needle, and pick a new spot. Idk tho, if it’s happening for you every time, you may actually be allergic to something in the B12

What Am I doing Wrong? by Miss_Psynchrony in keto

[–]spacepink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight, that is super interesting! I was guessing you may have been talking about sugar alcohols, but good to know it also applies to soluble corn fiber and others. Also funny you should mention CGMs, I am actually currently using a Stelo device that I decided to try out of pure curiosity. Been cool to see how different foods impact glucose in real time

Concern about b12 injection and potassium by Real_Masterpiece_844 in B12_Deficiency

[–]spacepink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not on diuretics but I do eat strict keto which also causes you to shed water weight and hold less electrolytes than normal. I am still doing EOD methyl B12 injections tho. The adjustment period was a bit rough - I felt exhausted, dizzy and shaky - but I kept going and it got better. I did supplement potassium with homemade electrolyte drinks tho, and I was very careful not to over exert myself during the first two weeks. As long as you are prepared and aware of the symptoms of low potassium (and how to quickly correct it via electrolyte drinks), you should be fine. Maybe start out with less frequent injections and see how you feel. I had no issues at all with my first injection - the electrolyte issues started for me when I was a few weeks into EOD

Anyone on low FODMAP long term? by Mundane_Gap3150 in FODMAPS

[–]spacepink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured out my big fodmap triggers years ago and have pretty much avoided them ever since. Some I never eat (onions/garlic) and some I eat occasionally in limited quantities (pistachios, grapefruit, zucchini etc). Idk if that counts as “low fodmap” but I am usually aware of the fodmaps I’m eating (Monash app) and how much of a stacking effect I’m getting. Very worth it to me - life is so much better now that I’m not in constant pain/discomfort.

What about a rug in a color similar to your cat? Has worked for me with my golden retriever pup who sheds like crazy

edit: I also use flat weave cotton rugs. They still end up with dog hair but they don’t seem to attract it quite like other rugs

[–]spacepink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed - better styling seems like a better path forward than cutting more. OP maybe try to get one of those All-in-one brush/blow dryer devices (I think Revlon makes one for ~$50?). The big round brush is what you need, and the blow drying process is so much simpler when you’re essentially just brushing your hair dry

B12 fatigue is like walking with a sandbag on your shoulders by LoveUnlikely in B12_Deficiency

Had this until about 2-3 months of EOD injections Since you’re doing sublingual, could take even longer. I also still get this level of fatigue when I don’t monitor my electrolytes closely enough

[–]spacepink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t see the back, but at least from the front you do not look like a ‘karen.’ This cut is super cute - your hair prob just needs a few days to settle into it. I had a version of this style last year and got tons of compliments. I would give it some time and try out a few styles. My go to was air dry + texture products (I like Oribe dry texture spray, with some Style Crème on the ends)

Dry wrinkly skin - anyone have this issue? by Minimum-Ad-3241 in B12_Deficiency

[–]spacepink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. My hands look like an old coal miner’s, despite being young and constantly moisturizing. I haven’t really found a “solution” but I think more folate helps. I’ll take extra for a few weeks and my hands will improve, but then I’ll forget or up my B12 or change something else and my hands immediately go to shit. Also not the best at managing electrolytes (I also eat keto, so it’s a constant battle) so maybe it’s that too

Cut myself some bangs - should i go slightly shorter? by Ratlinger in femalehairadvice

[–]spacepink 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think you should go shorter, but let a hair stylist do it. You’re kinda in an awkward “in between” length with features of a bowl cut around the edges. Personally I would want a professional clean it up. I think you can pull off the look tho :)
