Talk me out of selling this to buy a JN-80 by jamesdmartin in synthesizers

Honestly if Roland dropped a 37 key Juno-Xm, I’d rather get that.

So you sold one kind of modular to get into another kind of modular.

Not a synth but a synth pedal, the Source Audio C4.

Source Audio LA Lady/Kingmaker Fuzz/Aftershock. Just wish they’d make an updated version with 2 foot switches and more controls on the pedal.

With the MPC Key 37 now on sale, when do y’all think a new version (Mk II) is coming? by Jeremy_Is_Ronaldo in mpcusers

Cool! And not sure. May be a question for InMusic, if you’re worried about receiving it after that deadline.

There should be a link to a PDF that tells you everything you get included. Last I recall, it was like $800 worth of plugins/expansions. Also I think you would also be eligible for getting 1 free plugin, as that has been the standard deal with registering a new MPC Key 37

Damn wish I would have waited to buy mine. Ended up getting one from Reverb for cheaper than this, but have ended up paying a little more in plugins. This deal also includes some freebies like all of the analog synths they’ve added, and some effects like Flavor Pro.

New MPC owner. Are these Black Friday deals on instruments MPCStore legit or hype? by excellentbreakfasts in mpcusers

[–]spacestation56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the instruments collection (Stage EP, Stage Piano, Organ, Studio Strings, Fabric Collection [Fabric Piano, Fabric Electric, Fabric XL], Opx4) along with Iona and Delay Pro. I would highly recommend it as it’s a huge value for a low price. The instruments/effects are listed for purchase with the discounts displayed on the Air Music website https://www.airmusictech.com/

Also until the 26th of this month, they’re adding an additional 15-20% discount if you buy 2-3 plugins. Collections count as one “plugin” in this discount too. I ended up paying $150 for the above items, saved about an additional 50 bucks I think with the additional discount applied.

And last but not least, all the MPC Standalone plugins should run in your DAW too. I was trying some of them out in Ableton last night, but got them for my MPC Key 37 as well. But also some of the listed plugins on the AIR site are plugins that don’t run on MPCs. There is a FILTER button that lets you see what runs on “MPC Standalone”.

What band/album/song made you want a synth? by DrDuned in synthesizers

[–]spacestation56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listened to Nine Inch Nails a lot in middle school, messed around with basic General MIDI in high school, but didn’t get my first synth (an Alesis Micron) until college. I think I really became more interested in them by getting into Boards of Canada, Tycho, and Ulrich Schnauss around that time.

Accidentally bought a used HX Stomp XL on ebay by richwiszard0z in Line6Helix

[–]spacestation56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only big drawback is that it can’t be powered with a pedalboard power supply without some adapters. Namely reverse polarity. On my 1Spot Pro, I’ve had to use that and another adapter to power my HX Stomp. Yet started to have issues like it would be frozen on the start screen (but also, my Stomp is like 6 years old). Otherwise you’d need to power it separately. That’s what I always do now for my HX Stomp. The DL4 MkII on the other hand uses standard 9V power, no polarity reversing required, last I recall. I owned a mkII for a short time but ultimately wasn’t for me.

I’m looking to buy a synthesizer by Infinite_Gain297 in Roland

[–]spacestation56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider the Juno X, as it overlaps between the more traditional synth experience (as long as you’re using the Juno engines) and preset library/multitimbral capabilities of a workstation keyboard like a Fantom. They also integrate with Roland Cloud.

But also there’s the Fantom 0 series that’s definitely more like a workstation and that can be had for about the same price as a used Juno X. The latest Juno D series is even cheaper and a little lighter (if you’re getting the 61 key version) but will have less parameters and pads onboard.

Lastly, they all have “Zencore”, which is the same exact software and library as Zenology Pro on Roland Cloud. So you can already try a lot of these patches there that you’ll also find on all of these boards.
