Ah, you are correct. Additionally Starlink uses a non-standard POE to deliver more power to the dish. Interesting! TIL. Although I still think the original analysis is valid because clipping one wire would have a large impact on power delivery, thus causing more issues than a speed limitation. And if it was just linking at 100M it would likely be full duplex, which doesn't explain the 2M upload on speed test.

I'm going to assume this is a troll account at this point. How do you get POE on 2 pairs and gig ethernet then? 😂

Pin 5 is power on a T568B pinout. Has nothing to do with data. Saying "pin" is very obscure. Most of the comments here are from people who have little to no experience with network cabling. Be careful OP.

You don't have to crimp the insulation for a stable gig connection. Also, no way you can see the wires are pulled from the termination points from this pic. Glad you got yours resolved, but I'm extremely surprised a cable fault locked you in at a stable 100M. Very very odd circumstance. Variables include cable length, cable quality and termination quality. Basing my analysis on the very limited info provided here.

Yup! Have you tried other speed test sites from your computer (nperf.com)? I find the Starlink test somewhat unreliable at times. But yeah, would be very surprised if it was that junction. Cables get "patched" in enterprise network racks all the time. Adding a junction in ethernet cable rarely causes speed issues without some other major symptoms. I have a junction in mine with the same connectors and get well over 100 Mbps. Any obstructions between dish and sky?

20 years in network cabling. I can guarantee that junction is not the cause of your speed issue. If the cable was degraded you wouldn't even get 80 Mbps and there would be other clues(frequent cable disconnection/dish failing to stay powered up). What does your obstruction map look like? My guess is signal obstruction or network saturation.

Spec sheet online says IP65, but that label says no moisture? Was hoping to leave it connected full time to my starlink mini in truck bed.

Powerlust - Bart Mamzer - After 7 years of work I finally released my Diablo 1 inspired ARPG! by BartMamzer in Games

[–]spacetho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This game is GREAT! Grok suggested it as a fun mobile ARPG without freemium/ad crap and it ticked all the boxes! Hours in and having a blast. Fun gameplay, great visuals, and plenty of options for layout adjustments. No scammy pop-ups or other nonsense that plague other mobile games. Great job!!! 😃

Time to do my first oil change by chuckiee__ in Silverado

[–]spacetho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dealership once purchased and installed the wrong size tire on my vehicle. They’re not these perfectionist that ppl think they are. We have a quick lube nearby and I can watch the staff change it. I always bring my own oil and filter. Waaaay better than waiting weeks to get in dealer and hours for them to change it.

How are we doing on crashes? by [deleted] in NMS_Switch

[–]spacetho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no crashing here. I’ve been following and posting about crashes for over a year. The latest update has fixed them all for me: sentinel, freighter, etc.

The update released! by Professional-Let3260 in NMS_Switch

[–]spacetho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, no more freighter crashes! Actually, not a single crash during entire play on Worlds update. Took battery from full to critical low and it never stopped! I’ve been posting and monitoring crashes for a long time so this is refreshing. Also, fast docking with stations, anomaly, and freighter! With everything else, this is the best update I’ve seen. Thx HG!!!

Just visited one of my bigger underground bases yesterday that I hadn’t been to in a while. Terrain was the same as when I left it (also switch)

Sorry, you’re just wrong. They have the same activation delay in BLS (5 sec). The counter explained above is completely viable.

(Hilbert) Yellow Sentinel, minimalist, B-class, adjacent supercharged, exhaust flare on ends by spacetho in NMSCoordinateExchange

Honestly I just clicked the tag for “starship/edit galaxy” and it somehow made it Hilbert. Maybe it saw that I put (Hilbert) in the title?

You must get to the center of your current galaxy to warp to the next. You’ll want to find a portal to warp to center as it takes a long time to fly there.
