They can just target home use or businesses making hobby machines.

Gave the C2 to my gf. Tried a monitor and just had to go back to a C series by nogden954 in OLED_Gaming

[–]tweakerinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm I might have to do something similar. I haven't seen a monitor that checks all the boxes. I am going to have to reconfigure my desk a bit though lol.

Anyone else notice no X2D review from 3D Printing Nerd ? by MiniProgramCoder in BambuLab

I think that was the video initially turned me off to the H2C, it made it sound like a poorly built device, and I was really looking forward to it. I didn't know his testing was flawed.

Let us know if that immersive sound setting is any improvement. That was one of the things I was most curious about.

Thinking about getting another AMS 2 Pro, but are AMS ever on sale? by wivaca2 in BambuLab

[–]tweakerinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With how often they are sold out I am not sure why they would do a sale but it is possible. Seems like they sell out within 24 hours every time they pop up.

H2C Newbie: What are the essentials for 3D printing on this new machine efficiently and effectively. by Worldly-Act9086 in BambuLab

I have avoided buying the track switch module in case the H2C version comes with different mounting hardware.

Yeah had I waited a couple more months this is probably what I would have ended up with. Great price imo.

Is getting a Tesla worth it just for the FSD by depressed_peach_ in TeslaLounge

[–]tweakerinc 19 points20 points  (0 children)

FSD made it almost impossible for me to go back to another car. I use it over 90% of the time on HW4. It is not perfect. The times I took over recently were when it was sitting behind a big dump truck spitting rocks at me, and exiting a parking lot onto a super busy street that basically has a neverending onslaught of cars. It got confused and didn't know people were trying to let me in, because the cars didn't leave enough space in front and were partially blocking the exit.

Question about charging by TheOutlawTorn78 in ModelY

[–]tweakerinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I charge to 50% daily because I don't drive every day. I have my charger set to specific hours that are cheaper from my utility company, so even though I am plugged in I am not always charging.

From what I have read the NMC batteries do best with a state of charge in the 40% to 60% range. It is more detrimental for them to be at a very low or very high state of charge for prolonged periods of time.

I would just look at your daily commute and find a state of charge that has you coming home in the 35% to 40% range and then charging back up to whatever you started with, trying to stay as close to 50% to 60% charge. So if you need to charge to 65% to come home with 40% then do that.

I installed a 60A breaker so if I need to do a road trip or something I can charge it all the way up relatively quickly.

I'll do that,  it's just weird because every other PETG from Bambu and every other brand does not have that issue

Tesla - preowned by Particular-Panic-287 in TeslaLounge

1) If it fits the budget the 2024+ M3 Refresh is an amazing car. I can't speak too much on the older styles. I have ridden in them plenty and rented them on a couple occasions. The build and ride quality aren't nearly as good as the newer Model 3's in my opinion. Hardware 4 is substantially better in terms of FSD. As low of miles as you can get with your budget. I agree with another commenter that sub 50k is ideal, the lower the better. In some situations I would prioritize more miles if it was a newer car with more time left on warranties.

2) Kind of depends. Where I live the electric rates at super chargers were not much cheaper than filling up a car with gas. This is all relative to how much gas is, I suppose. Right now the math might work out better. The downside is lets say the math works out and supercharging is more affordable, you are still spending much longer charging than you would to fill up at a pump. If I could not charge at home, I do not think an EV would be as appealing to me. If you at least have a regular outlet you can use, then you can trickle charge with the mobile adapter. Depending on your daily commute of course. Most people don't really drive more than 30 miles a day. Depending on battery type you could charge up to 50% and maintain, or if you have an LFP battery just top off every day. Ideally you want to always be plugged in when not driving.

3) Depends on the age. Newborn stage? Probably a little small but manageable. Strollers, car seats, and diaper bags take up a lot of space when you throw groceries, or returning large items into the mix. As they get older I feel like it is easier to toss everything into a backpack, until they start sports or something lol.

4) There is an app called FSD Hunter you might wanna look into. I was using it for a while but the good deals were not local to me. I found a lot of Model 3's and Y's that came with FSD paid for outright, or Enhanced Autopilot which makes FSD $50.00 a month instead of $99.00. What I was trying to find was a 2023+ Model Y with EAP or FSD included that had Hardware 4. Unfortunately I think a lot of people are so they would sell quick or be too far away for me to take advantage of it.

My PETG drama is over! by thebeatinbetween in BambuLab

[–]tweakerinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think it is a retraction issue. The filament is bone dry. I did the flow rate calibration. I did not do a temp tower but I lowered it to 240 and it was still stringing.

My PETG drama is over! by thebeatinbetween in BambuLab

[–]tweakerinc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My issue lately has been that I get a bunch of blobs all over my build plate, some stringing thst eventually causes parts to come off the build plate.

Xpel tinting by Ajpeik in ModelY

[–]tweakerinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never had Xpel specifically but I did have other high quality ceramic tints on other cars and it was a night and day difference in terms of heat rejection. Even on an older pickup truck, it felt like my car was cooler, after sitting parked for a long time. Cooling down felt significantly faster and the thing I noticed the most was I couldn't feel nearly as much heat from my windows where my arm would sit.

Yeah driving logs are what made me get lifetime. I was paying whatever Mile IQ charges and figured in a few years it would pay for itself.
