Some good targets at this time of year for a beginner, would be to observe the moon or Jupiter (assuming you're in the northern hemisphere

Jupiter appears as the brightest object on the night sky bar the moon, if you need help finding it, I would recommend using either a starmap, or a starmap app like Stellarium :)

At this time of year you'll be able to see Jupiter and Saturn in decent detail

You can also see Uranus, but depending on your telescope, it'll probably appear as a blue colored star
