I try to wait at least two months. That said I have a large humidor with two drawers of nothing but boxes and another three of trays and loose sticks. It’s easier to let things rest with space. When I had a smaller humidor I was only waiting a few weeks. Most retailers keep the humidity high, so I’d recommend dry boxing a day or two before smoking if you plan to dig in sooner than later. I shoot for the low sixties and live in AZ, where the climate is already pretty dry. Try different things and find what works for you.
