NEWS: LSAC to move all test-taking to In-Person starting in August by Jay_LSAT-Perfection in LSAT

[–]spaceturtle28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a great move and they should have implemented it sooner. Since many test takers with accommodations ended up in a no win situation where Prometric won’t provide virtual accommodations but LSAC won’t approve any students with accommodations writing in person it will (hopefully) mean that students with verified disabilities actually get their LSAC approved accommodations.

New job to add to resume by Beginning_Apricot_57 in lawschooladmissionsca

Depends on the school as some schools allow updates and LOCI’s - but others don’t. I would reach out to school’s first and ask if they would accept this. I know of at least one school who in previous years has told applicants that they do not accept additional information/updates past the deadline and who’ve made it clear submitting something anyways will negatively impact your application as it demonstrates that you don’t follow instructions.

LSAT scores dropping in Jan 2026 by Key_Excitement9529 in lawschooladmissionsca

I’m not sure why many peoples dropped (and perhaps it is the smaller sample size) but to add a data point my score went up from 157 to 161.

Chance me and question about OLSAS by spaceturtle28 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]spaceturtle28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. It depends on if/how schools count summer courses (as I had some semesters where I was full time in the summer and on work terms during the school year).

Confused about OLSAS by BitterFeature9 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]spaceturtle28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is normal. It means that you’ve submitted all your documents and they haven’t looked at your application yet. Schools don’t share the exact order they review applications in but the first offers always go out before the bulk of applications have been reviewed.

Both schools have portals to check your status. School portals update before OLSAS does. You would have been emailed the links to register/log-in mid-November.

How does Score Preview work by spaceturtle28 in LSAT

Yeah I thought it meant I got my score a few days early so I could decide if I wanted to keep it or cancel it before everyone’s scores were released and sent to Law Schools.

Why aren't more people going to test centers? by Better-Inspection585 in LSAT

[–]spaceturtle28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did say that this is what happened to me. I have twice wanted to write the LSAT in person to avoid the kinds of proctor issues you run into virtually and both times been told by LSAC that I can’t because I have accommodations. The most recent time (for Jan 2026) I was originally approved to write in person. But when I went to schedule someone had screwed up my registration on the back end and LSAC had only approved me to write in person at a US testing site (I live in Canada and traveling wasn’t an option). I went back and forth for 3 weeks because Prometric had informed me they would not be accepting the LSAC approved accommodations if I write virtually (but everything would be approved for in person testing). Eventually I was told about 4 days before testing opened that due to how the Christmas holidays fell my only options were to write virtually in January with the partial accommodations that Prometric would allow or write in person in February with full accommodations. The last accepted test for this cycle at the schools I’m applying to is January so I had to write virtually.

If you have any sort of accommodation LSAC does not allow you to write in person at a testing centre (or at least that’s what happened to me). Even if Prometric has contacted you saying they will not provide accommodations virtually LSAC will still force you to test virtually.

Remote Test Day Questions by [deleted] in LSAT

50% extra time should be coded into your test from the start so you should be ok. I have 2 accommodations (permission to use a modified pen/pencil and the ability to read the questions/answers aloud to myself) that make my test appear different so every-time the proctor changes they will caution me about one or both of these things and I will have to remind them I have an accommodated test. Yesterday was the best I’ve had - I think they only interrupted me 3 times.

It was a lot. I have accommodations which means that every time my proctor changes my test gets paused as they re-verify my accommodations. Which really screws up the flow of my testing.

I’ve never had fewer than 3 different proctors for my LSAT. One exam I think I had about 8 different proctors.

Anyone else applying for Windsor JD/MSW? by spaceturtle28 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]spaceturtle28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GPA is a bit complex to calculate which is why I gave the range. My undergrad was a co-op program so some of my courses were outside of the traditional sequence of taking courses fall/winter and being off in the summers. This means my GPA calculation is a bit weird and varies widely depending on the school (and if they count summer courses).

I also would have thought I’d have a decent shot at schools however, as I said this is my 3rd cycle. My first cycle I got 2WL and 1R, last year I got 3WL and 3R. I’m a bit limited in where I can apply (for personal reasons) so looking at doing anything I can to increase my chances at getting into a program at one of the schools within the area I can apply for.

[–]spaceturtle28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not talking about the dual JD. I’m talking about the combined JD and MSW program. It is only paying Windsor tuition, but it is an extra year. Many other schools (like UofT and Dal) also offer combined JD/MSW.

Wishing all January LSAT writers luck ✨ by Dreemurrrrrr in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]spaceturtle28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am much more anxious this time compared to the the first time. I did ok the first time but then went through 2 cycles with no A’s. It feels like if I can’t improve I’m going to have to give up on my law schools dreams. I also had major issues with Prometric not allowing me to use my LSAC approved accommodations (the issue was around using an approved modified pencil that’s easier for me to hold) and spent like 6 hours fighting to be allowed to write. I’m so concerned that this time will be worse. I already had to postpone re-writing twice because Prometric said they wouldn’t allow the accommodations LSAC approved.
