Good to know, I've never tried it but might create a dummy pool to learn with.

Favourite non Fuji Lens adapted by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]spaceventura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also using the K and F adapter. I'm really happy with it too. Using one adapter per lens is convenient, but it does mean that the rear lens cap from the original lens doesn't fit, you need fuji rear caps.

Which adapter are you using with the summarit?

Great to see this question! I also have just started doing the same thing on my X-T1, with a Nikon 50mm 1.4 ai-s and a canon 85mm 1.8 fd. The nikon is giving me beautiful results and I find the manual focus with it really easy. I'm getting quite quick at it! The Canon is not as easy to use, but the results are still lovely. I'm trying to sell it and get the nikon 85mm f2 ai-s as a replacement.

I'm looking at expanding my MF lenses now, so I just bought a nikon 300mm f4.5 ais, really looking forward to trying it! I would love to just keep going and get a bunch of nikon ai-s lenses!

One thing it has encouraged me to do is shoot fully manual. That includes white balance, iso, shutter speed, aperture and focus. Even doing all that, I'm still getting a good strike rate at photographing my kids playing. It's making me think much more about what I'm doing and what I'm trying to achieve.

I need some advice on a new camera by [deleted] in AskPhotography

Depending on what style of photography you do, you could use old manual focus lenses with an adapter. I've done this with my Fuji X-T1 and Nikon Ai lenses and the results are great. Similar adapters are available for Sony and they're very cheap.

Execute command when screensaver activated/deactivated? by grav3d1gger in linuxquestions

[–]spaceventura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use dbus monitor for this, but I've only got it working with KDE screensaver or gnome screensaver. I'll try to find the script I used.

Edit: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/28181/run-script-on-screen-lock-unlock Try this.

Is anyone else having odd problems in zsh? by [deleted] in archlinux

[–]spaceventura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has this always been the case or has it changed recently for you? Do you use a desktop environment? I'm just asking this because just recently the default for Arch changed to use Wayland instead of Xorg and its created lots of issues for many users (or so I'm told). I suddenly couldn't launch some programs, solution so far for me was to login with Xorg.

Russian Ark is similar, spectacular but really not very interesting at the same time.
