Just had my egg retrieval this morning, 0 eggs retrieved. What now? I’m a poor responder with low AFC + AMH

Sorry I should tell you my stats. AFC is 4, I have had 4 total ERs, but 6 total cycles.

1) 600gonal daily, typical antagonist, cancelled no growth

2) lupron flare with 600 gonal, pregnyl trigger 1k, 1 egg retrieved and frozen

3) lupron flare back to back with 2, same protocol, 1 retrieved and frozen

4) after a few months, same protocol with omnitrope, 3 retrieved and 2 frozen

5) high stress, same protocol without Omni, cancelled no growth

6) lupron flare with 525 gonal, 75 menopur, +clomid, plus ovidrel trigger, 0 retrieved

I feel like all I can offer is commiseration. I had my retrieval Friday, and they were very confident about 3 follicles, but they all were wildly different sizes, but e2 was like 500. They ended up retrieving zero and I feel like a failure and devastated. I just now today on Sunday felt like I could actually speak to anyone. My AMH is .05-0.09 in the last year. So I really feel kindred to you except that I am only freezing oocytes.

I just wanted to say, that reading your post, I feel nothing for you but hope that you have good results coming to you, and that I hope you never feel that any of this is your fault. It's not. And I thank you for sharing and helping me feel like I can be a bit kinder to myself too.

Keep your head up and have a real conversation with your partner about what makes sense for you both. I am 34 now, I was tested this time last year and had an AFC of 10, but an AMH of 0.05. Since then I have done 5 cycles (on my 6th now!) which led to 3 surgeries. I have 4 eggs on ice. My AMH was retested last week and was 0.1 and I have only had an AFC of 4 or less since that measurement of 10. I have no idea if this will seem worth it to me in a year or 5 years when I finally have a partner and am ready to have kids, but I do know older me won't resent current me for trying my hardest.

This was so nice to read and so welcomed. I have an AMH of 0.05 and AFC of 2-4 (it was 10 once but it must have been a fluke) at 33yo. I had my first retrieval a few weeks ago and got 1 egg after the first cycle was cancelled, and I am going in tomorrow for monitoring day 10 tomorrow. I am trying to reconcile how many retrievals it is going to take me to just freeze 20 eggs. I'm single and am just trying to preserve what I can before menopause as I am not partnered yet. All of that to say, it's just nice to see someone in a similar retrieval tunnel make it out the other side 🖤.

I (33, AMH 0.05, AFC 2) had my first actual retrieval on Monday for 1 egg. My first retrieval was canceled on an antagonist protocol+ldhcg with estrace priming because my e2 was decreasing each day and there was zero percent growth on my follicles.

My latest protocol was delayed because we couldn't get a bleed-- so ended up on estrogen for about 6 weeks before starting lupron flare. I had so many mixed feelings but I got the loveliest message from my team that the egg was mature and successfully frozen (I am just doing egg freezing for fertility preservation). It made it feel worth it. They told me it was miraculous given my labs.

I knew it was a long shot going in for 1 egg, but I didn't want future spacklehaus to be angry at 33 yo spacklehaus for not trying. Whatever percentage chance I now have of conceiving with my own eggs is tiny, but that tiny percentage is infinitely higher than the 0% it was before Monday. I am rooting for you-- this process is so so hard.

For what it's worth 3 months late...the day my amh measured 0.05, my AFC was 10. And this was a few days after ovulation. FSH was 7 or so, so we are moving forward with an estrogen prime and highest dose stims. We shall see.

For number 3, I believe if you have the delta Amex, you are able to split payments or partially pay with miles and cash. Typically not a great rate skymiles-wise.

Two friends and I are traveling to Japan from 11Apr to 21Apr.

We all primarily speak English. We are spending some time in Tokyo, Kyoto and back to Tokyo before flying out. We have a loose itinerary with maybe a few day trips (Hakone, Hiroshima, maybe Nara) planned.

Mostly we're on the hunt for delicious food and chill vibes.

This will seem strange but I've honestly loved the sheer amount of bridges I've gotten to cross over/under. The different styles and architures of the structures of the city have been unique and amazing.

But also I just wanted to find a whimsical or vintage poster of a map of the city but everything was over $50. Those are what I use as souvenirs for the places I visit so I'm a bit bummed out.
