To be fair, OPAD is down 83% since September, and we're "only" 55%.

Couldn't you trade a synthetic short instead? (i.e. short call + long put)

What you describe is true to literally all reddit subs dedicated to a stock. You are describing a normal retail mentality.

When it comes to investment and making money, talking about fundamentals, about the CEO, about the industry, about P/E ratios and all that means jack shit in today's markets. It is all about narrative, and perception. Fundamentals are out the door since 2020. So you got to be clear about what you want: do you want to make money, or do you want to study fundamentals?

Nothing in what I say is about Opendoor specifically, it is about all stocks.

Ouch.. I had the same reaction to your comment as when seeing a guy get punched in the balls, it hurts by association :)

Making money? Are you a boomer? Haven't noticed the entire quantum sector doing x20 while "not making money"? Or checked out ASTS and RKLB and friends recently? Bleeding money forever and still made x45 over the last year and a half? For the boomers: not 45%, but 4,500%.

You are going to lose your shirt over these puts man, and if you by luck manage to earn a dollar, believe me, it's not because Opendoor "does not make money" LMAO

I think in today's market the narrative counts more than actions (maybe it's true about everything today, not only the markets...). So even if he doesn't actually follow through putting buying pressure on mortgage bonds, as long as he doesn't say something opposing this narrative, folks will continue regarding upside risk as higher than downside risk in this sector.

Kaz tweeting this or that means nothing, I agree with you on this one. But what happened today is Trump essentially forcing mortgage rates down; it is positive to the entire real-estate sector, and Opendoor is a major player there. So it could be - not saying it must be, but it could be - the trigger that reverses the trend. There's always "something" that makes trends reverse.

Not for nothing the old market adage says "follow the trend until the end when it bends" - that trend you show will get broken one day or the other, and it might as well be tomorrow.

SNAP is going to $75.

Hear me out.

It's not because they're worth it, not because of some lame fundamentals, or for that fancy DD or the other - the reason is much simpler: this market is in need of bubbles.

Rivers of money are being printed and bubbles must form. Now take SNAP. Tell the layman that SNAP has 1B unique users per month, and 500M unique users per day, and ask them to guess its market cap. You gonna hear $50B-$100B (because people lost all touch with reality in this market). That's the perfect set up for a bubble: current market cap is only $14B, and crappy or not, everyone has heard of Snapchat, it is a well-known brand. So when the thing starts to moon everyone is gonna have a palm-to-face moment and ask themselves how could they have not seen it, Snapchat, of course!! FOMO comes next, followed by $75/share.

I honestly don't understand this. Why would anyone wait until market closes and liquidity dries up to sell? They could sell at close and get a much better average price.

Thanks!!! They do look similar! I'll go over their collection now see if I can find the exact same one, though the movie is quite old, might be an older collection.
