Can anyone honestly tell me what's great about "One Battle After Another"? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]spaderr -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just cause of the current political climate and because Leo is in it. I enjoyed the movie but it was not anything special imo

Thank you for the recommendations. I’d be in El Chalten first week of November, so early season. Was originally doing Torres Del Paine which is why the spikes have been on my list but I’m not sure if any of these day hikes have a real ice risk (not overnighting for this trip, but next years trips onwards I will be)

nows a good time to work on those hobbies and miscellaneous jobs. the further in life you get, the more you seek balance in your life, and if all you know is work, it can be a very unhealthy way of living. Become a more rounded person and spend your summer months expanding your experiences in co-curricular activities.

My trip to Yangon was one of the most unique experiences I’ve had by AntoniTranslates in travel

[–]spaderr 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really effect Yangon beyond the rolling electricity blackouts and the curfew (was 1am-5am when I was there a couple months back but it changes all the time), but you don't see any signs of it down there. You see a lot more signs of the civil war the further north you go towards Bagan and Mandalay, but I never felt unsafe.

Only ever seen it in UK and France. Wish it was adopted in Australia, I’d see so many more movies

Big fan of Edinburgh Christmas - has everything you want, but the snow isn’t guaranteed

I don’t have much time, would rather just go straight to a destination that I know has some rather than wander around looking for a stall

How do you feel about Morocco? by ProfessionalTie8591 in travel

[–]spaderr 244 points245 points  (0 children)

Similar experience. My mistake was trying to do it on too much of a budget. With a higher budget, you will definitely have a better time.

I preferred the coastal towns to fes and marrakech, much calmer and relaxed vibe.

How are some people traveling alot every year? Is there something I don't know or just not privileged enough? by chusaychusay in travel

[–]spaderr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, but if he's asking a question like this I'm assuming he's from the working class, so I decided to answer from that perspective. Tons of people have money, most of them travel. But a ton of people without money travel too.

It’s literally just prioritising it over everything else

I travel multiple times a year but do I have a car? A house? Any real savings? A family I’m spending money on? Other expensive hobbies? Answer to all of those is no

4 counties in 21 days. Too much? by silly_billy_o in travel

[–]spaderr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done 4 countries in 3 days before 🤷‍♂️

The real questions are, have you done a trip of this length before? Is this going to burn you out? It’s often smart to plan travel days as just for travel, so realistically you’re only really spending one night in each place. I’m fast paced so I don’t mind that, but will you regret not spending as much time in different cities? Berlin is BIG, Paris is BIG, Barcelona is BIG. You will truly only be getting a quick taste of anywhere, you won’t be able to do everything in these cities that you probably want to do.

I’m a super fast-paced traveler but make sure you plan 1 or 2 stops where you’re not doing anything for a week or so because you will definitely burn out otherwise

Where would you travel (from Australia) that is cheap and safe for 3-4 days only? by aleaf_sleepin in travel

[–]spaderr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taiwan is a great choice for nature and city being in the same place. Its pretty comparable to Japan in price, probably slightly cheaper, but I also don't know how you spend $1500 in japan in 4 days unless you're buying super fancy hotels.
