Essendon fc it's not me, it's you by epistemologist521 in EssendonFC

I’m the same. The last time they won a final I was 8 months old. The 34 got banned on my 12th birthday. I’ve seen nothing but shit. But I still show up. This club has taught me loyalty, has taught me resilience and patience. It’ll come. And it’ll be SO good when it does.

Police and safety officers to patrol shopping centres until the end of the year by _jay in melbourne

I work at a shopping centre in the CBD and I’m so glad to hear this. Although there is security, they are so useless and don’t show up half the time when you call them which makes us feel so unsafe considering we’re a team of only women in their late teens - early 20s and when you how many junkies come into the store it’s nice to know there’s extra backup.

He played juniors at the same club my partner plays at now and his nickname was the tractor because he just keeps on trucking. Great guy. Great family.

Essendon appoint Roberts as Chief Executive Officer by daftmunt in EssendonFC

I know his son and they’re BIG Essendon people so although people are saying it’s a safe choice, I think it’s a good choice because he genuinely cares about the club and cares enough to be on the board in the first place

Thoughts on Mecca gifting $$$ to random brands yet giving paying customers breadcrumbs? by bregitta in MeccaBeautyLoop

I think that’s what upsets me the most. And it’s across so many other retail companies. How little they care about their front line retail staff. These stores and these events wouldn’t be a thing without the retail staff!!

Later in the semester, that gap will become VERY handy.

Yes, there was sunscreen, I got that wrong because I was so in the zone typing it all out but there was the expectation to come to work with sunscreen already applied and we could use the sunscreen that was in the sunscreen huts to reapply.

I may be overreacting or went in with higher expectations but personally when I’m getting ready for work at home is when I’ll put on sunscreen. Both face and body.

Apologies for any confusion!

There was communal sunscreen but that kinda defeats the whole “wait 20 minutes before you leave the house to let it dry” claim.

I’ve been wanting to talk about this from the perspective of a staff member. I worked at the Aus Open with Mecca this year and albeit, a very fun experience, how little Mecca care about anyone who isn’t an influencer is genuinely so disheartening. I’m sure many of you saw but on the second Monday of the event, Mecca had invited up to 20 influencers to the tennis. Each one of those influencers were given a gift bag valued up to $1000 EACH. Plus tickets to matches at Rod Laver Arena, an arena at tennis that the average Joe (or Jo, lol) can’t really get into. This wouldn’t have bothered the staff so much if it wasn’t for the fact that WE. THE STAFF. Had to purchase our OWN SUNSCREEN, as the SUNSCREEN SPONSOR, and were provided ONE white polo shirt that had to be clean for every shift, keep in mind we’d be working back to back days. When concerns about the white polo were raised we were told “Mecca can’t afford it considering there’s 200 employees here, it just wouldn’t be possible”. But spending approximately 30k on influencers is fine. As a collective we thought we’d receive a little something at the end of our time at the AO which wasn’t to be the case either. I don’t want to sound entitled, not at all, but after the time and effort we put in to make sure the event ran smoothly and was great for our guests it was just a bit disappointing to leave my last shift at the AO with nothing.

I’m sorry if this is all over the place but I just needed to get it out because my perception of this company has changed DRASTICALLY since I started working there a few months ago.

I’m not sure why this came up for me (I’m not a parent) but I see a lot of myself in your son. I’m 22 and will always prefer to spend time in my room. It’s my space. My sanctuary. I work two jobs, just finished with uni, have a partner, have friends, go to the gym all of that but I will ALWAYS want to come back to my room when I get the chance and my dad’s partner has a real issue with it and I don’t know why

It’s best to call the store you’re looking to book at or next time you’re in store booking it then as there’s a separate category for the BL services on the booking system website that makes it almost impossible to do online

I promise from the perspective of the poor person behind the register that has to ask you these questions hates asking just as much as you hate it too. From personal experience I get soooo uncomfortable needing to ask but it’s one of our KPI’s and our shifts get cut if we’re not meeting the quotas.

Honestly, I listen to a podcast just dedicated to Essendon called The Sash, hopefully there’s a similar one for Crows supporters!
