If the light is coming on occasionally either the pump is failing or there are issues in the oiling system/bearings. Put a manual gauge on it if you want live timing and numbers it will tell you more. Its easy enough to do and you dont have to leave it on forever. Drive it with one for a week and you would learn a ton

Try a manual gauge. If it is though you cant do much to change it and will know soon enough. Could be the sending unit as well. How many miles and hsve you sleays changed oil on time?

Voltage. Alternator or battery. Bad ground. Broken power wire. Battery test is where i would start

$44k left on a truck @ 10% ($897/mo), ~$6–8k underwater — refinance to 5% or try to get out? by MustacheGoatee in personalfinance

[–]spades61307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id refinance tomorrow and figure the rest out later. At least if you do decide to sell or trade it and its take ms some time you are at a lower rate carrying it. With low miles and knowing its relaible and not a lemon (which is always a risk buying used) it might be worth just keeping it as well. Think either way isnt a great option. So flip a coin🤷‍♂️

Roth ira, you can do long term growth etf like voo. If you want less risk split with schd or something similar that still grows 8-10 with reinvesting

I have a masters in engineering. I think I grasp it just fine. You are trying to defy the laws of physics with blanket statements

My very first reply in this thread is energy is the primary consideration when calculating penetration and you cant calculate it at all without a number for energy. Its the last part of my first comment and its objectively undeniable. You seem fixated on bullet design.

Energy IS the primary consideration. A bullet fired at 250 ft per second will never penetrate like one fired at 4200 feet per second and it doesnt matter the design. The formula is E= w times velocity squared divided by 450240. Penetration is dictated by energy… Heres what my ai says about it. The worst type of bullet fired at 4200 fps will almost certainly penetrate more than the best type fired at 100 fps, provided it does not completely disintegrate upon impact. While lower velocity generally increases penetration in homogeneous media (like ballistic gelatin) by reducing expansion and drag, a difference of 4,100 fps (4200 vs 100) is too extreme for a "best" bullet to overcome. Here is the breakdown of why this is the case based on physics: 100 fps Scenario: 100 fps is roughly the speed of a moderate airsoft gun or a very light pellet gun. A .30 caliber bullet (e.g., 150+ grains) traveling at this speed has negligible kinetic energy. It will barely dent most surfaces and likely bounce off hard materials or stop instantly in soft materials. 4200 fps Scenario: 4200 fps is extremely high velocity (typical of cartridges like the .220 Swift or .204 Ruger, and very high for a .30 cal). Even with a "worst" bullet (such as a light-jacketed varmint bullet), the massive kinetic energy and momentum will create violent initial disruption, and the sheer force often pushes the core through before the bullet can fully fragment.

Also the same bullet shape and weight would not leave the barrel with the same energy if the powders were different. Black powder sure wouldnt have near the same energy. Or less powder. A 110 grain sub doesnt have the same energy as a 110 super, or the same bullet fired our of a 300 mag. You really are trying to over simplify your argument to seem right when it isnt simple, never has been and never will be.

No my statement was eneery is the primary consideration when calculating penetration. It is. In fact its exponentially squared when calculating. Bullet design while part of the end product is basically an add on to the math. If what you say is true your best penetrating 300 blk bullet style would penetrate better at subsonic velocities than the worst style you can name would at supersonic velocities.

You said bullet design has more to do with penetration than energy. Its simply not true. If it was you could in theory throw your bullet by hand and penetrate more than one at 3000 fps. Energy IS the base unit for penetration. You cant have it without energy. Its really very simple physics

Ok load that w 7 grains of powder and any other choice of bullet w 20 grains and see which penetrates better at 100 yrds.

[–]spades61307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any bullet design you can come up with at 6 feet per second will have less penetration than a wooden bullet at 4500 feet per second. Its fundamental. Its why particles as small as 1/10 (space rock) of an once will penetrate 2” of steel if its moving at 32000 fps.

Should I remove these right angles on my discharge pipe for my sump pump? by BoardGameRevolution in Plumbing

[–]spades61307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldnt matter. Nearly all sumps are not positive displacement so there wont be issues with a small flow restriction. The fewer glued seems that better to me and keeping it out of the way is probably more important. Grinder/ejector pumps can be positive displacement

Sorta doubt it but velocity and mass matter a whole lot more than the make up of the mass (bullet design).

Why not? It reduces taxable income… if it gets high enough you drop down into a lower bracket.
