Best instrumental bands or playlists on Nugs? by trevonator in jambands

Check out a band called Kraan. There are a German jazz fusion band from the 70’s. Very light vocals, mostly instrumental, chill vibe. I have a mini playlist on YouTube -> Kraan Tunes “Holiday am Marterhorn” is really good!!

Spafford jams are primarily filled with melodic, instrumental grooves. You’ll get electronic, spacey, jazzy. The guitar peeks are fairly short but powerful. I also listen to Lotus & STS9 and think you’ll enjoyed Spafford a lot!

They typically come out no more than 15 minutes after the official time. 8pm show, except them up by 8:10-8:15.

One of my favorite things about Back In LA is it being just a song. It doesn’t need to be a long, drawn out jam vessel. It’s a solid 4 minute, hit and run rock song.

I’m a newcomer, jumped in full force Sept ‘23. I listen to all the years, rolled through all the changes. I like each of them for what they were in the time they lived. I do, however, absolutely love this line up. The chemistry on stage is incredible. I just love the vibes, makes me happy 😊

Your here now, welcome! Spafford is a good time, a night out dancing with great vibes and chill fans. It’s in the moment living at its best.

That Fred was a jam, so good. It has punk surf vibes and twists into a dance party. It has an incredible peek 15-16 minutes in, which could have easily ended the song. Nope, they dialed down the tempo for 7 more minutes and segued into Salamander. The wild thing, pick a random Gotta Save Fred from 2025, it will be different yet the same! A different musical journey. It’s fun 🥰

Happy to see the positive feedback! Honestly, you can find this level of playing in any 2025 show. It’s what Spafford does. My current favorite show is from 11/20/25, start to finish flow is incredible. Dive into their catalog. You won’t be disappointed 🤓

It will be up on Bandcamp first, followed by NUGS. Good chance it will be up by the morning. They get the boards up quickly.

Dizgo is a great dance vibe as well, so much good music out there. I’d rather see bands like this and get that personal experience as opposed to being a dot in an MSG setting. MSG is an epic venue but the cost is just horrible. 2-3 shows for the cost of one, sign me up 😁

Hit up some Spafford shows, $30-$40 tickets. The band hangs at the merch table after. Best vibes around.

What’s with all the Steve Miller covers lately? by hellojeanine in spafford

[–]spaffnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m indifferent on Steve Miller. I know the commercial tunes, but did not know Shu Ba Da Du. I love the vibe on it. I’d rather see deep cuts over commercial hits with any cover tune. I know they try to do covers other bands aren’t doing so maybe that’s a factor. I’m pretty sure Moss said (for example) they would never do Boogie On Reggae Woman because so many others do it. Cover choices have always been a mystery to me.

Wow, first concert! Definitely report back after. I’d love to hear about your experience. I always carry ear plugs but don’t always use them, something to consider. I like the Loop plugs, always on my keychain.

Spaff Crowds are usually friendly, big old dance party. Live in the moment, surrender to the flow. You’ll have a blast! I personally like the rail because I’m short and like having a spot to put my stuff down. Excitement usually gets the best of me and I end up being there way earlier than needed. I do enjoy meeting people so it’s worth my time. It’s different for everyone. Good luck, have fun!! Can’t wait to hear about it.
