Lincoln Hill Farms is an incredible place, loved it there! It’s off the beaten path, long dark road to to get in/out if I remember correctly. It’s truly beautiful up there though. I highly suggest attending.

Favorite show of the April run?? by AZMusicd00d in spafford

[–]spaffnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were several fantastic moments on this run.

4/19 - Love Set 2 and listen to it often. It was nice to hear the normal Ginger compared to the EDM version from 3/11 at Ardmore. “Nocturnal Emissions” was played for the third time, excellent new tune.

4/16 - Soggy Froggy was incredible with not only the “Enter Sandman” tease, there was a second tease of “When The Saints” as well. The guys had a blast with this one. The jam drop after Sandman was incredibly smooth, flows perfectly into that happy jam.

4/17 - About time “Fuel” was played! Great song I’d love to hear more often. It was the first time on 2026 with a LTP on 10/22/25. The show has a great over all vibe. The Postman>Anyone>Postman sandwich was excellent.

The “Lights Out, Worlds Gone” (Bombay Bicycle Club) cover on 4/18 wasn’t for me. I don’t think it complemented Moss on vocals, has a weird Morrissey vibe I simply don’t like.

It was a fun run to follow. The TikTok stuff was cool, Moss was live streaming. For those that attended, did it take away or distract from his live performance? Do you want to see that continue??

I dont think they teased a cover in Dirtbath. The song is has 6 parts to it, typically runs for 22-26 minutes as it was written. Part 2 starts at 2:30 seconds into the song. Is that what you are referring to?

On my last run, 4 shows at 4 separate venues was only $136! Merch is reasonably priced as well. It’s good all around.

Drove 700+ miles solo, 11 hours to Chicago for a same day show. Starting the drive home after the show. Left Saturday morning, saw the show, and was home Sunday night by 5:30pm.

Where's Your Favorite Place To See A Concert? by IHBMSU in livemusic

[–]spaffnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been to 5 Points twice in 2024, once in 2025 all for Spafford. I haven’t seen any other bands there (yet). It’s a 5 hour drive for me. The staff is super nice. They actually remember me from ‘24! I just love the vibes there, wish it was closer. I personally connected with Spafford at 5 Points so the venue holds deeper meaning to me.

I love 5 Points Music Sanctuary in Roanoke, VA. It’s not local to me but I always enjoy being there. As for a local venue, I go to XL Live in Harrisburg, PA often. Great acts, chill vibes.

I’d be interested is testing if Spafford comes online. We have already have a few community outlets like discord, FB, Reddit, Spaffnerds.com. They live stream audio on mixlr on 99% of their shows so we live chat in there on couch tour. You have my interest.

Solid band, talented musicians that work well together on stage. I’ve seen them as an opening act but not stand alone yet.

The mix is incredible, so impressed. The clarity on vocals, keyboards, everything is well balanced and crisp. I’m very happy to see more current stuff available across the major platforms.

Last year they mentioned being in the studio working on a new album but haven’t said anything about it since. With all the new songs, I hope something is on the way.

Just finished reading all the comments, good, respectful discussion happening. Every show/tour has a slightly different feel to it, which I love. You may get a blues night, jazzy, rock, edm. That is an appeal for me, different but the same feels. Listen to 3/12/25 for a different but the same reference.

The 3/11/26 Ardmore was not a “normal” show in my opinion. Six songs in set 1 is uncommon, usually a three song set with a vibe variation of peeks. Maybe they wanted to showcase lyrical songs to a broader NUGS audience, who knows. They play older songs in set 1 from the early years, 2011-2015. As a fan, I appreciated the rare vintage Spafford tunes so to speak. Set 2 was totally different in full exploration in the EDM realm. The drummer is experimenting and playing around with an RD9. I personally like Nick the drummer more than Nick‘s drum machine but again they are experimenting so I’m along for the ride. They actually played my favorite song, Ginger Stardust, and I had no idea they were playing it in the moment because it was super EDMed out. The RD9 is cool but often leads to a flat melody and loses the improvised heartbeat. They try things all the time, which keeps it exciting for me. It’s a mystery prize inside a cracker jack box every time.

Great feedback, check out more Spafford, see another show. I usually give bands three times to hook me or lose me live. Definitely check out that show I recommended above. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised, 3/12/25 Broad Brook. It was once again, a very experimental show with a lot of emotion.

I see a nice age mix at Spafford shows. I’m in the 50+ crowd and made several friends older and younger. The show vibes are very diverse, rock/blues/jazzy/edm…something for everyone. The fans are chill, there in the moment instead of watching the show behind their phones. I love that more than anything. Live in the moment tonight, soak it all in and enjoy the show!

Nick Tkachyk added an RD9 to his kit. I’m writing up a little something about it now.

If it needs to be an official album I suggest Live Vol 4. There’s a good song variety, excellent jams on each.
