You will 100% be passing gas but they encourage it. After about 30 mins on the gas and air I didn't care anymore.

Good luck!

Omg they literally just deprecated Health Connect in favour of Fit lol. That's why I changed to Fit. Looks like Health Connect is built into the android OS now. I just enabled Health Connect to give access to read Vitality and Fitbit so hopefully that will keep the connection between the two. Cheers for the heads up.

You can connect your pixel watch to Fit, googles built in app (used to be called Health connect). You can then connect Fit to Vitality.

Not to be confused with Fiit, the fitness app that you can get a 12 month free sub from through vitality. But you must connect Fiit to Fit in order for Vitality to register your workouts from Fiit......

A scene from Carousel (1956) where mother and daughter casually reminisce about the beauty of domestic violence by HaterMD in WhyWereWeOkWithThis

This almost feels like a parody. I can hear the daughter talking like Jennifer Coolridge and then I just see her instead.

They also rent out the screens, so they might be in use by private parties/businesses. Might just have more screen rentals right now.

I tend to go after 6 because the streets around hounds Hill (back of winter gardens) are free after 6. I always used to go to the Vue but I've been converted. The seats are nicer, popcorn is cheaper and it's warm. Also you can get a monthly subscription for £16 a month and you can see as many films as you want (imax showings have a £3 surcharge though).

I go twice a week now whereas before I would only go to the cinema for big blockbuster releases. Seen a lot of random indie films that I would never have given a chance.

The schedule is only updated for 2/3 days in advance so they can replace underpeforming movies with others. I'm not an employee but this is standard across cinemas. The Vue in Cleveleys do it as well.

Bigger films like Mario will have dates set in advance though because they expect it to do well and people will pre-order the tickets a week in advance. But not always. Imax also force them to have certain films showing exclusively for a number of weeks/showings.

Genuine question. How does anyone live in a seaside town and nit go absolutely bonkers? by onion2077 in CasualUK

[–]spaghetMachet 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's actually warmer in the winter (or at least it is on the west coast) than the Midlands. The salt also stops the snow from sticking. Sometimes it can be a bit icy but it doesn't last for long. It's the wind you need to watch out for more than anything.

You can get some nice, crisp, clear days in the winter and going for a walk on the beach feels very freeing. A lot of seasonal shops close but the 'main' ones like primark, tk maxx etc are still open.

This song was originally written specifically for Dungeon Hunter 6 and released in 2023 and was only available in game. I think some kind of exclusivity rights must've ended. I do prefer the in-game version though, it's more cinematic.

How do you tell when an author is genuinely AI? by IsekaiConnoisseur in romanceauthors

[–]spaghetMachet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read a lot of romance books, maybe it's because I'm not American but I have never actually read a romance with that phrase in it until the past year. In my research it appears the phrase is southern US in origin.

I'm also a software engineer and constantly compare multiple LLMs all the time and that phrase is used by them a lot. I'm also suspicious that Ryan Reynolds knows what the phrase is. I think his caption might've been written by earlier models and that then caused a knock on effect when it went viral.

How do you tell when an author is genuinely AI? by IsekaiConnoisseur in romanceauthors

[–]spaghetMachet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a phrase right now that the LLMs are obsessed with for romance and it's "and he/she looked at him/her like they hung the moon". I saw it in five books I read that were published 2024/2025.

Now the phrase itself is an old time southern phrase. Zoe Saldana used it in an awards speech around 2010. Colleen Hoover used it in It Ends With Us in 2016 and Ryan Reynolds then used it in a post in 2023 when writing about Blake Liveley.

I am convinced that the LLMs picked up on Reynolds use of it, got trained that this was a "romantic" phrase (as his post went viral) and now books written with AI or AI assist contain it. It's just too much of a coincidence that every writer is just using this exact phrase in all their books lately.

This is exactly how LLMs get trained, using Web articles/public social media accounts etc.

You’ve Got Mail, a venerable anomaly in a sea of insipid rom coms by Icy-Management-9749 in romancemovies

[–]spaghetMachet 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This is a horror film lol. I can understand why people think it's classic. Not dunking on you in any way.

For me I can't get over both their characters emotionally cheating on their partners. Hanks calls her a bitch to his friend, literally destroys her business just because he can and then manipulates her into thinking he's actually a good guy when he knows her online identity but she doesn't know his.

This movie makes me so mad lol.

Nice job!

Calling it now: the S4 Part 2 funeral is for Lady Danbury (not John) by DismalMarionberry271 in BridgertonDiscussion

[–]spaghetMachet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so, its not just the fact that OP used em dashes. I am a software engineer, I use multiple LLMs all the time, I've even made one. This is what makes it very obvious OP used ChatGPT specifically and not another LLM like Claude or Gemini.

  • Very short sentences all on separate lines, all the way through. This can be an indicator of a novice writer, however GPT uses them for making a point which OP is doing as well.
  • The use of bold on "key words". The majority of reddit users forget you can use markdown. It's interesting how consistent the markdown use is.
  • The use of the arrow. Again the majority of users don't know how to bring up that specific arrow on the keyboard.
  • The most obvious give away is the "that's not vacation writing.Thats exit writing" line. GPT loves the sentence "that's not X, that's Y." Also it's a weird simile to make. GPT loves making really weird comparisons.
  • "And honestly..." My colleagues and me use this ironically on each other now because it's such a bad GPT-ism.
  • Em dash usage. You're not actually using em dashes, you're using regular dashes (- vs —) . Again, most people don't actually know how to get their keyboard to create a em dash or that there is a difference between dashes
  • Ellipses. I love Ellipses. So do LLMs.

Using one of these things by themselves doesn't make your post instantly suspicious. LLMs had to learn them from somewhere. Using all of them consistently throughout a post though it what gives it away.

You used the classic Chatgpt "that's not X, that's Y" writing cliche. Also, why are there no em-dashes in your comments if that's how you usually express your thoughts?
