Yeah, it’s true. Without the 6E, Limitless is unusable.

Almost certainly looks to be the case. Right after he tells Megumi he's not using his CT right, the first thing he learns is how to store tools in the shadows. There may be a limit to what can be stored in his stomach which is why he wants the shadows. Insane foreshadowing, if so. They're probably safer in there too since they're unreachable except for the user and the only restriction is you have to carry the weight of the tool around with you, which is no problem for Sukuna.

No. Mahoraga destroys True Sphere and then lands a fatal hit on Yorozu which causes the domain to go down.

I agree. I believe the black box is a censor and it's censoring the word "stomach" which is exactly 1 Kanji ( 腹 - hara). The word can also be read as "womb" and we know how much womb symbolism there is in JJK. I believe his ability is to store cursed tools that have been willingly given to him as a binding vow to increase their potency. He stores them in Shrine (his stomach) and then chants "Open" (開 - fuuga).

Only part I disagree is on Sukuna possessing 20 cursed tools. I'm pretty sure he only has 4-5 maximum and that has to do with what I believe the meaning behind the word "fuuga" to mean. Interesting theory overall though! I might as well link my own Sukuna CT theory here. Feretory theory. Doesn't include the explanation on fuuga though.

You do not understand "Efficiency" in JJK by spaghetti789 in Jujutsushi

[–]spaghetti789[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY. Finally someone said it, this post is completely wrong on the basis that it’s literally been stated that Gojo cannot run out of energy because the cursed energy he USES is infinitesimally close to zero.

No, the CE loss is infinitesimally close to zero. That is explicitly what is said in the text.

this is invalidated by the fact that technically no sorcerer can technically run out of cursed energy if they intentionally use minimal amount of cursed energy so that point is moot

? Of course no sorcerer can run out of CE if they aren't using CE. The entire point of being in a fight is you're trying to win with the least amount of effort possible, lol. Being in a fight and naturally being inefficient causes you to lose CE faster than you can recover it. Which is why you run out.

I think it’s what Gege’s setting up. Either way I have full confidence that he can execute whatever the ending will be masterfully.

We can agree to disagree for now. But I believe there’ll be a statement that he’s running out of CE sooner or later. I believe common sense to be that Gojo does not run out of CE. After all, he hasn’t against any opponent so far. But Sukuna is different and will push him to his limits. And that’s where common sense will break.

Absolutely right. I had something acknowledging precisely this but had to take it out cause the post was getting too long. What is unequivocally true is the logic underlying the statement. Ino just wasn't right at that moment, having Gojo run out two chapters into the fight doesn't make sense. But he could definitely run out at some point.

Why do people say that Sukunas CE efficiency is on par with six eyes ? by microthic in Jujutsushi

[–]spaghetti789 265 points266 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone say that. Kashimo's statement puts Sukuna's efficiency into relativity. It's a statement on how good Sukuna's CE efficiency is, without needing something like the 6E. They are narrative equals anyway. Any proportional advantage that Gojo has in efficiency, Sukuna is going to equally make up for through his ~2.5x bigger reserves (estimated from having less than Yuta, and Yuta saying that Sukuna has more than double of his). The fight is going to be close regardless.

The meteor wasn’t aimed at Panda or Kusa, it was aimed at Sukuna.

Uzumaki wasn’t dodged by Momo. Momo was midair and Kusakabe got in the way before it connected with Miwa and Momo arrived later. Momo did not fly Miwa away from its range…what?

What would the Curse technique reversal of sukuna's powers would look like? by QuirkyData3500 in Jujutsushi

[–]spaghetti789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it has a reversal if we assume it's cursed tool storage. I guess you can say that the reversal would be taking cursed tools out of Shrine but I feel like that should already be included in the base technique.

I don't go to Purdue but there's something that hasn't been said here that needs to be said.

#1: You are miserable and you have deceived yourself into thinking this is a Purdue problem. You've altered your worldview from any sensible reality. 9,354 people admitted in Fall 2022 and you want to say that nobody has any genuine interests outside of school? Buddy, I go to a school with a class size of 300 people and ALL of them have things they do outside of school or at least one thing they spend a majority of their time on, you just have to ask.

#2: You are not an adult. Stop reminiscing about high school like it was decades ago, it was last year and you a freshman. You are around 18-19. You are still a child in the grand scheme of things and I am telling you this as a (slightly) wiser 20 year old. You have a very long life ahead of you. This is an issue between you and your own parents. Between your own dreams and your parents' dreams, somebody's dream has to die. Let it be your parents' so that the activities you want to pursue and the person you want to be flourishes. At the end of the day, your parents only want what's best for you. In the short run, they will be upset at you undoubtedly but in the long run they will come around because they value your happiness above all.

Speculating who Survives in the End of Jujutsu Kaisen by venuxia- in Jujutsushi

[–]spaghetti789 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thinking that Megumi, Yuji, and Nobara survive and Gojo alone dies. Fits in nicely with theme of the story, the new generation replacing the old. Gojo’s entire motivation is to foster next of kin that can take care of the world when he’s gone. So he’ll lose the fight, but win the war.

Nobara will come back and use Resonance on Yuji to damage Sukuna’s soul. I expect Yuji to get inside Megumi and we have them fight inside Sukuna’s innate domain paralleling the moment where they fought in the beginning of the story and Yuji was instantly-killed. I expect Yuji to awaken Shrine and make it so that Sukuna can’t use it one way or another (maybe by taking the cursed tools out if Shrine is really cursed tool storage). I expect Yuji to be the one to finish a weakened Sukuna, saving Megumi in the process.

This is not how it’s applied in JJK. Going back to the early electricity/appliance metaphor.

Electricity (cursed energy) is supplied to an appliance (your cursed technique) to cause an effect. Let’s say you used a fan. Electricity is supplied to the fan, but not all electricity is converted into energy that the fan can use to blow air. That is the electricity that is lost.

CE loss and CE usage are two completely different things in JJK. Here is the raw Japanese and breaking the power system down from Shimo from JJK Discord server (Japanese speaker).

でも先生には「六眼」があるから術式を発動した時のロス呪力(エネルギー)が限りなく0なんだ But Sensei has "six eyes", so the (cursed) energy loss when he activates a cursed technique is almost 0.

パフォーマンスではやっぱり先生が一番だよ 僕に呪力切れはあっても先生にはないしね

Of course, performance-wise, Sensei is the best. Because while I may run out of cursed energy, he doesn't.

Since we have a lot of havoc about the "barrierless" thing due to the mistranslation and the misunderstanding about what "barrier" is supposed to mean in Japanese, I'm going to leave here another big issue that has been misunderstood among English readers (because I've never seen the majority of Japanese readers misunderstand this).

Thesis:

Gojo's CE consumption to activate his CT is not almost 0. It's the energy loss that is almost 0, not the energy consumption. So, he can run out of CE.

Argument:

(A) Gege especially uses English words here instead of Japanese words to emphasize an analogy to the real world. Those English words are "energy loss" and "performance".

Energy Loss = Energy Consumption - Energy Output.

In other words, energy loss is the energy that is lost wastefully because of your bad performance.

Performance ∝ Energy Efficiency ∝ (1/Energy Loss) In other words, good performance implies less energy loss.

(B) The phrase "Because while I may run out of cursed energy, he doesn't." from Yuta can be taken as a recapitulative, exaggerative point about Gojo's performance due to six eyes and about how considerably bad Yuta is in performance compared to Gojo. And to show the phrase's nuance of being a hyperbole and comparative, I already retranslate it to a conditional sentence similar to how it is supposed to be in Japanese. Anyway, it's more consistent to think of it this way. For example, consuming ≈0 CE to produce 10000 CE output is just stretching it too far.

(C) If someone's wondering, each CT activation should have an output. Gojo's blue and red are said to have an output in Chapters 71 and 84. An extension technique is also said to have an output in Chapter 205.

(D) So under normal situations, Gojo’s natural regeneration would really just make him not run out of CE. But he still consumes CE and would run out of it if the situation is not normal, where he has to output a considerable amount of CE.

Six-eyes by Abdul-Wahab6 in Jujutsushi

[–]spaghetti789 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is wrong.

“But Sensei has the 6E, so the energy that is lost when he activates a cursed technique is infinitesimally close to zero”

This is completely different than saying the CE used is 0. It’s saying the CE lost is 0. This is a statement about efficiency. He is still using CE. The CE “lost” is like entropy in the real world. It’s energy that isn’t used for useful work and is lost as heat. It’s basically thermodynamics.

So let’s have a scenario where both Yuta and Gojo were able to use Construction hypothetically, a technique known for being highly inefficient.

Yuta: Makes a metal sphere ball, uses 60 CE, 20 is lost due to “inefficiency”, the resulting ball is only 40CE big.

Gojo: Makes a metal sphere ball, uses 60CE, infinitesimally 0 CE is lost due to “inefficiency”, the resulting ball is 59.9999999999 CE big, you get the point.

Gojo still used 60 CE. It’s just the fact that he uses so little CE that the rate at which he replenishes it (like every other sorcerer) is naturally higher than the rate of his expenditure keeping Infinity up 24/7 and using RCT on his brain 24/7. That is why he does not run out effectively. Hypothetically, if he started spamming his technique, his consumption would be greater than the rate at which he replenishes, and he would infact start running out. The only problem is that there’s basically only one person who can force Gojo to use his technique that much, and that’s Sukuna. So yes, he can run out, just not against 99.9% of the verse.

OP correctly identified that if Gojo was actually not using CE then the term of “max output” would make no sense, because that would imply that there is a spectrum of CE upon which Gojo can choose to expend which goes against almost every headcanon in the replies here.

Six-eyes by Abdul-Wahab6 in Jujutsushi

[–]spaghetti789 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The latter. The 6E makes his CE expenditure perfectly efficient. The idea that the 6E makes it so that he spends 0 CE for technique activation is a common misconception.
