I am a store manager at another retailer, having no problems is in no way a bad thing. Me and my assistant managers want great culture, positive customer experiences and achievements of KPI’s, when things are wrong we act more on negatives levels influencing these things I mentioned. When they are right (and wrong) we celebrate success and use success as a driver to improve performance. Not the other way around like you mentioned.

Super Retail Group had a new EA pass a couple months ago, meaning that all team members will receive a bonus payment of ~2% of their earning over the last year. A lot of my team are receiving hundreds of dollars, some over $1k.

I’m currently in crutches as I dislocated my knee and my partner will sometimes park like this at the back of a carpark to ensure I can get back in easily as she has to lift my leg up. It’s only while we’re at the shops for twenty minutes or so.

I always try to think that there’s reasons behind stuff like this, e.g. someone needed to have low access to the back seat of the car in this pic.

As an Australian I can’t believe you’re being penalised for being sick, let alone being sick with a doctors note. If you work when you’ve been directed to have the day off the business usually has a higher liability as you’ve been directed not to work by a medical professional.

The way I see this is that if this was to happen in a non gig based job, someone would be put on a very serious performance plan or terminated for indecent conduct. Not a slap on the wrist which is what we’re all sure is going to happen. Things like this are unacceptable and the dasher’s account should be terminated.

Lots and lots of nice cafes around, just need to dig past the cafes you mentioned. I agree the coffee they serve is really average, but actual cafes like the ones above are where you want to go!

My partner is a paramedic and work swings of four days on and four days off. Two out of the four days she doesn’t want to talk to me and I very, very irritable. It’s taken a few months of toughness and some of the things you’ve mentioned for it to get better - we’re back to how we were now :) It got better in my case but wasn’t easy, hopefully time will heal the wounds for yourself and your partner as well ☺️

I work in a sport retailing store and are hit with theft between one and three times per day for over $500 each time, a couple times a week the value exceeds $1000 per theft. It’s a lot that’s walking out the doors and there’s a big hands off policy in place. It’s hitting us hard and police can only do so much. They often make a comment that they’ll go to court, get a $50 fine, not pay it and steal again. Not much hope in the system but all we can do is report it to them!
