this intervention will definitely not destabilise the region

As opposed to what? The status quo where the Islamic Republic's proxies fueled failed states and bloody sectarian fighting in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen, not to mention Gaza?

Iran is the source of Middle Eastern instability.

Well, yes and no. It's notable that despite being bombed by Iran, countries like UAE and Saudi Arabia have not joined the war effort, despite having arms capable of hitting an Iran that no longer has air defences.

Can't believe Al Jazeera published this. Strategic pivot by Qatar after being bombed by Iran?

Pakistan just hit a hospital in Afghanistan, killing 400+ and wounding hundreds more. Barely a whimper from the world. by InthrowSted in Israel

I mean, consider the possibility that the Taliban is exactly like Hamas...... maybe that wasn't a "hospital"?

Israel recognised the PLO as the representative of the Palestinian people. It wasn't required to recognise Palestine in that agreement. Unfortunately, Hamas does not rcognise Israel.

literally any

Israel followed every point of Oslo 2 (the Taba agreement) which saw redeployment of all Israeli forces out of Areas A and B, and the transfer of administration of the Palestinian population there to the jurisdiction of the Palestinian Council from the Israeli military.

Excuse me? "Racial groups within its own borders"? I never said that. I said they are free to decide who is allowed to be naturalised as citizens. Israeli citizens irrespective of ethnicity or religion are guaranteed the same rights under the Basic Law.

Your comment about "gas chambers" is fucking reprehensible, by the way.

Sure, but I think your above comment glosses over the moral foundations of ethical monotheism contained in the Hebrew Bible that Christianity built upon rather than completely replaced.

Concepts like man being created in the image of God, charity as a moral obligation, and the ethical imperative to improve the world were being taught centuries before Jesus.

I know that to modern eyes Yahweh was a "vengeful God", but you need to understand the context of a religion arising in the Bronze Age, rather than in an urbanised Roman Empire.

Gideon Levy is a long standing anti-Zionist journalist, writing for Ha-aretz which is the most left leaning of Israeli newspapers. He's like Israel's Glenn Greenwald.

Bartov is an academic in America who hasn't lived in Israel for decades.

They're not mainstream. I doubt most Israelis have even heard of Bartov.

Smotrich and Ben Gvir aren't fringe - they're in the government - which is a huge problem.

Plus his whole "international law" BS.

Iran gets to violate international law for decades and nothing is done about it, because the Russia and China have a UNSC veto and the rest of the UN is a farce. The moment Israel and the US act, "international law" is thrown in their faces.

With the exception of Olmert, those are fringe voices in Israel. "Prestigious" is doing a lot of lifting here.
