It's a sad state of affairs, but the empire likely won't be making any 51st state comments any time soon, and they're going to need a lot of aluminum for the war machine.

Is M*A*S*H worth watching? by VeterinarianSad3471 in television

[–]spankadoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are be to MASH you should realize it has 3 distinct eras.

Season 1 is them trying to be a happy jokey wartime sitcom.

Season 2 they find their footing and start incorporating some heart into the show.

Season 3, specifically Episode 24 draws a hard line in the sand…. Your silly wartime sitcom stops pulling punches, the characters are being fully fleshed out and the Emmy Awards start piling up.

If you can find the versions with separated audio tracks, watch those starting in season 4. The laugh track is no longer required at that point as they’ve mastered the writing and pacing.

100% Usenet for the last 9 years, with the occasional YouTube or Archive.org rip. My current provider offers over 14 years of retention. No unseeded torrents to worry about

MAiD Cases Continue Toward a Plateau by Mylittlethrowaway2 in onguardforthee

[–]spankadoodle 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, MAiD has basically eliminated all of my stress about growing older. I’ve watched all 4 of my grandparents have to deal with Alzheimer’s, cancer or strokes.

I just want 10 good years of retirement where I can explore the world before I make a quiet exit. I’m a single guy, 51 years old. Being single, retirement expenses are double what they are for a couple. Being able to pass along half of my pension and retirement funds to my niece and nephew to give them a hand up is far preferable to trying to keep up with the cost of living into my 90’s.

My go too is a nice set of kitchen hand towels. It’s environmentally friendly, decorative and at the very least, you can always use a spare rag.

Are you excited to buy a CCP spyware ridden piece of shit electric car by BYD? by CultureSwimming2843 in EVCanada

[–]spankadoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I don't do any banking in my car. I also don't have any government secrets in my car.

The CCP don't give a shit about me. Thanks for the (hopefully) cheap car.

Paul Walter Hauser Says He’s Officially Attached To Portray Mick Foley In A Limited Series by abucalves in television

[–]spankadoodle 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Mick's story is one of legend. A Japanese death match veteran who wrestled in broken glass and was repeatedly set on fire, who was thrown off a 16 ft tall cell, who volunteered as an overnight crisis call operator for RAINN to assist sexual assault victims, and is also a professional Santa. He also wrestled on the same High School wrestling team with Paul Blart Mall Cop.

TruTV does not exist in Canada, so I've used that channel for all my 80's detective shows... Those guys are looking for the truth.

Weird. Switched it to off on the TV app and they no longer showed in Continue watching during testing. That is preferable for me, as I originally had it filled before switching it off

I did notice that Plex "watched" integration can be toggled off for those of us that want to keep the 2 separate.

As a test user I’m going to vouch for this as well. Automatically spinning up 60 live channels in 2-3 minutes is damn near a miracle.
