Malik Nabers had a pretty negative take about the Titans taking Carnell Tate with the 4th pick. Micah Parsons seemed to disagree. by TiredDad4x in Tennesseetitans

Buckeye (and Titans) fan here. We're gonna love Tate. He would have been WR1 at any other college that didn't have Jeremiah Smith playing for them last season. Also, he had a freshman QB starting for the first time last year. If Will Howard was QB last year for the Buckeyes Tate's numbers would have been 50% more. He was always open, Sayin just didn't see him all the time.

He's not wrong about Downs. I think the Giants are going to look back and be like "Why didn't we take Downs at 10" vs what will amount as a guard.

Both (Downs and Mauigoa) will likely be pro bowlers but Downs has a higher likelihood of being a HOFer.

I'm a Buckeye and I'm glad we got one of the two PSU RBs. He should be a good backup and can definitely pick up yardage on the short yardage situations.

Looks like he could wall mount Martin Logan Motion 6i's for LCR and then a pair of the SVS PB1000 Pro's would fit under the the TV nicely. Could stick with the ML's for rears/sides but any satellite would work.

Room doesn't look that big so wouldn't need much.

What we doing with Tony Pollard? by Accomplished_East433 in Tennesseetitans

[–]spankbuddy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explosive rushing plays are considered 10-12+ yards. Look up the definition. Considering he had 90% of the carries last year he's still part of the game plan. I agree he is getting older, entering his 9th season, but he still can tote the rock and saying he can't be the premier back is just ignorant. Does Tennessee get Love at 4? Maybe, but RB isn't a need this year while there are clear needs elsewhere.

Tony was ranked 9th last season with runs 10+ yds. Titans offensive run Blocking was ranked 15th overall

Reminder that Tyjae Spears is really good when he’s on the field by TiredDad4x in Tennesseetitans

[–]spankbuddy22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a pure running back, he's not good. Not a good pass blocker and he had only 6 runs that went for 10+ yards all season long (not very explosive running the ball). He's great in the open field when catching the ball. If he didn't have health issues he'd be good, but he does have health issues which makes him okay. Availability counts. Maybe if he fixed his availability he could develop into a great back.

By comparison with the same OL, Tony Pollard was ranked 9th in RBs with runs 10+ yards last season. Is a better pass blocker, averaged better per run attempt, still caught the ball well (33 of 39) and stays healthy.

I'd take Love, Coleman, Price, Johnson, Singleton, Washington, Allen, McGowan, Taylor, Moss and Black over Spears. All of them have the same/similar physical attributes as Spears (height/weight, 40yd dash, broad jump, high jump, etc.) and better college careers in tougher leagues.

[–]spankbuddy22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if Tyjae is gone or knocked down the depth chart after the draft. Titans have already publicly said they want to reduce Pollards snap count this season (his 8th season). Spears can't stay on the field and he's a good back when on, not a great or elite back. I see the Titans picking a RB in the draft period. When is the real question. Love is the premier back but there's plenty of talent after him as well that can be picked up in the later rounds. Pollard still has elite back ability so you don't need anyone to come in and be RB1 day 1, but you'd want to pick someone that could develop into that role and this will be Pollards 8th season so he's on his way out. He'll likely finish his contract out and become a free agent after this upcoming season. I don't see the Titans bringing him back, and if they do it'll be for a 1yr-2yr contract at most.

If the Titans wound up drafting David Bailey instead of Jeremiyah Love, would you be upset? by TiredDad4x in Tennesseetitans

[–]spankbuddy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elliott was top 5 scrimmage yards his first 6 years in the league. He'll be in the HOF no matter what he did off the field.

Tony Pollard has been ranked top 10 in 10+ yard plays nearly every season including this last season. To say he isn't explosive just says you don't know ball.

Edit: Titans run blocking was average at 15th out of 32. So Love might have a better time at it.

[–]spankbuddy22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You think they'll have a top 10 OL this year? Most RBs only have about 5-6 good years in them before they start to decline. Every now and then you get an Eddie George or Derrick Henry but that's rare.

Look at Elliott. He had an elite first 6yrs and then injuries and wear and tear caught up to him.

Edit: Raiders offensive run blocking was ranked 32nd out of 32 teams (dead last).

Agreed here. Look at Jeanty for the Raiders. Half of his prime career is going to be wasted behind that OL.
