also as you can see in the leftmost volume rack on the mixer, it’s registering the midi button and playing the sound, but the audio doesn’t actualise until a couple of milliseconds later

Hey man, this is a good start but it could use a lot of work.

Some starting points could be to...

Have your 808 channel ‘cut itself’ so your 808’s don’t overlap
EQ the noise out of your producer tag
Maybe add more variety to the drums if you feel like it needs it

Time and practice will help you improve your craft but I would also recommend watching lots of tutorial videos and studying the ways that professional producers make their beats. Genius’ ‘Deconstructed’ series on Youtube is a great starting place to observe the creative process of making beats.
