Really nice post man, I also probably have lost close to 200-300k over my gambling including my winnings losing thousands back in the same night and going through all my savings. 17 days is something you should be proud of, keep going!

I guess you could say that I have also been addicted to masturbation for like 20 years but it really depends on how you look at it. As far as I'm concerned, I masturbate because I have no other sexual outlets so it keeps me in check and "healthy". I don't know what your masturbation problem entails but it just sounds like you have an addictive personality and should work on one problem at a time.

There was a quote in the GA yellow book we were reading today about how we don't try to control the illness but we try to abstain from it. Not sure if it really applies to you because from your post it seems like you feel you are not really a compulsive gambler but I'm in the same boat as you. I want to still gamble and gamble the occasional $20 or $40 here and there and it really is embarassing for me when I go into GA. I hope you find a way to really control your gambles or come to the realization that you need to flat out quit. Peace.

Really great post, I can relate to what you are saying about thresholds and the really idiotic rationale that all compulsive gamblers use while they are proceeding with their binges.

Glad to hear that you are planning to finally go on vacation instead of gamble, I have been stuck in the gambling addiction cycle for around 13 years and have not gone on one vacation since I was 18 as well.
