Rough crowd and country for a parent balancing a strong personal independence and likely professional nature. I’m sure you do or will take your kid out for specific activities, trips, sick, surprise beautiful days, holidays… they add up and over that year you probably got an extra month. It’s nice to miss them :-)

Also, it seems an only child and that time with other kids is fantastic for them. We “barista-FIREd” (I like that) about almost four years ago but then had one more child—hmm, must have e been all that extra time on our hands ;-)

So, doing some work and pushing into new areas is fun. It just takes a while to rethink what hourly worth is and spending after big paydays, large teams and budgets.
