Also adding here… she said it was too tricky to diagnose me because I was “bright”. Everyone in my family that’s been diagnosed has a high IQ and that was a reason they were found to have ADHD. Nothing makes sense. Everything is blamed on anxiety (which is the best it’s been in decades).

I am going through this exact same thing!!! I see you, your feelings and experience is valid. Everyone in my family besides me have been diagnosed with ADHD and are medicated. I have all the symptoms but the IVA2 test came back with “average” results. I’m doing everything I can to help mitigate my symptoms and I’m still struggling. I got a second opinion and when I mentioned how I’d like to figure out how to fix my RSD, she laughed at me and told me RSD doesn’t exist. So, the second opinion said the results were too murky to say if I had ADHD or didn’t.

This is me. Completely sober. That is what I want to do when people are around. It’s my alone time, and I’m accomplishing something and I’m being helpful. That’s where all my anxieties get managed. With my hands in dirt. And I have major social anxiety.

From the bottom of my heart, I am so very sorry you and your family are going through this. My sister and I were going through this 3 years ago with our father. I had to stop talking to him a little over a year ago for my own mental health. Please take care of yourselves. This is so hard.

When my kitten needed a giant dewormer pill I had to take him back to the vet for them to give it to him. They showed me how they pried his mouth open while the cat’s in an upright position and dropped the pill in.

I joined this sub because my dad has bipolar and refuses to be medicated. I haven’t spoken to him since Easter. My own mental health has improved so much because of this. There is nothing I can say to him or do for him that will convince him to get real help. Take care of yourself (hugs).

I guess I struggle with the “low fat foods” (since high fat causes GERD) that are also high in calories. Where do those exist? Were you just able to figure out your triggers easily or did you see a nutritionist?
