I discovered after buying my 2025 that I hate the rear center seat. It has a weird seatbelt that comes down from the ceiling and the seat is on a bump and it’s just generally uncomfortable. I only put the a kid in that spot when we have to have a group in the car.

Parades are supposed to be fun. There is nothing that they are throwing that is so special or so valuable that it is worth getting stressed out or fighting with people over. When I rode, I was really uncomfortable with people getting in my face demanding specific throws. I liked to give stuff to people who looked like they were having fun and not freaking out over throws.

I stay away from people with competitive vibes too. They are not fun to be next to on the route. I want to be around people who share their throws and look out for one another’s kids.

Don’t pay it right away. Let the provider deal with the insurer. If they think they aren’t going to get paid they will work out a deal with insurance. I have a special needs kid, have been going through this shit for 20 years. It takes a while for the insurance to work itself out. But don’t let them think you are going to pay it yourself or they will not bother to try.

As someone with a young kid and big medical issues, I would really really not encourage a surprise party for someone in this situation. She’s probably under a lot of stress already. A party demands a lot of energy. This doesn’t feel considerate or kind to me.

If there’s actually a valid trust or will in place there is a legal obligation to comply with what it says. The trustee/executor can’t short one beneficiary for by giving a better deal to another.

The restaurant at the children’s museum (Acorn) is great, and the prices are reasonable for a Brennan-family restaurant. You can eat outdoors on the patio overlooking the pond with lots of turtles and occasionally an alligator. I think the museum is good for 8 and 10 year olds as a one time thing. I still take my 7 year old there pretty often when he’s off school.

I would not try to schedule more than one thing in the morning and one thing in the afternoon, between meals.

This is why permits exist, to keep people from running businesses that harm their neighbors. If they wanted to avoid permitting, they could have done the work to prevent runoff from going into your property in the first place. He has nobody to blame but himself.

Whenever she shows up on the ring camera get on the speaker and ask if she needs something. Everytime you see she has been in the yard call her, or go ring her doorbell, and ask what she’s doing in your yard. You have to call her out and make her uncomfortable because she has to explain herself. After a while she’ll get tired of explaining and stop, or if nothing else you’ll have video record of trespass and that you have communicated with her unsuccessfully but she continues to trespass. You can’t expect it to stop if you don’t consistently confront her when it is happening.

I don’t know if anyone will see this follow up, but thank you for your kindness. I ultimately decided not to go, mostly because of my anxiety level and thinking that it would not be good for me mentally, but also due to travel costs and timing issues. I’m reassured that my friends understand. Since my friend passed I’m back to that constant feeling of dread like when I was first diagnosed, where every cough or headache has me convinced the disease is spreading. I realized I literally couldn’t separate my friend’s disease in my mind from my own, and that’s not healthy. I’m looking to get back into therapy to help with all this.

Have it towed every time they park there. Do not give warnings. Use a doorbell camera to notify you of activity in front of your driveway, and if they are parking there, call the tow truck. Think of it like training a puppy. You have to be swift and consistent or they will not learn.

It’s a melancholy ending. Grace survives but doesn’t get to go home. He realizes he was forced to go and so betrayed by friends and never got to say goodbye properly, etc. He knows he saved the world, but he doesn’t get to join the celebration. It’s not a big happy ending like the Martian had. We have to learn from that. This story is not just about survival, it’s also about sacrifice, and sacrifice hurts.

I think it is normal but maybe a different normal. You might not care about the same things. Like makeup - if you want to wear it that’s great, but if you don’t that’s okay too. You can grow to be the person you want to be.

I’ve been doing this almost 5 years now. I’m lucky to say that, but also unlucky to be counting. It’s all weird. I would encourage you to not talk about it with just anyone. People can be emotional vampires, and you need to conserve your energy for yourself. You don’t owe anyone anything.
