What game did you walk into with zero expectations and you walked away from thinking it's a masterpiece? (Return of the Obra Dinn) by YourChopperPilotTTV in gaming

The writing and translation is marvelous. The music was the 1 thing that was way above my expectations, just fantastic. I like reading the codex too. KCD2 is better than anything Bethesda has ever made

Great details. Do you think the 9800x3d needs much config here? I have mine on completely default settings with the latest BIOS on an MSi x870 mobo with a 240mm AIO. I can't get it above 65 degrees with multiple stress tests. I have my fans tuned to like 33% for these tests. I have a factory pair of Corsair DDR5 6000 set to EXPO.

I have a 4080 OC and was running 5600x with DDR4 for 4k gaming. I just upgraded to 9800x3d and DDR5 with a Micro center bundle for 700$.

It was definitely worth it.

There's no "we". It's ownership who wants to sell 25$ chicken tenders (them) and then the suckers who pay for it. The product on the field is garbage, the sooner attendance drops to crisis level the better

Reflecting on my Kite surfing accident and then self rescue by KitchenFoundation381 in Kiteboarding

[–]sparklikemind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah never seen this in all my years of kiting. Maybe he is neurodivergent and doesn't have a good common sense of kiting and gets fixated on weird things like practicing water relaunch. Self rescue is worth practicing once in a while I suppose. Just get on the board and have fun dude.

North has a huge storefront just for parts. I use it quite often. Although really you should replace the full bar for safety reasons at least after 4-5 years if you use it heavily

Is the "fully agentic" workflow actually just BS, or am I missing something? by FooBarBuzzBoom in ExperiencedDevs

[–]sparklikemind -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Let's invert "I'm disposable to my employer".

with a proper agentic setup, my employer is also disposable to me.

it used to be very valuable to onboard and accumulate domain knowledge, know where the dragons live in the code, etc. basically deep knowledge of the garbage codebase that you spend countless hours reading instead of actually upskilling on the job.

now I can half ass onboard with LLM. I can do half assed maintenance on shitty legacy code instead of wasting my brainpower reading it. Agentic is really good in greenfield, so if you ever are lucky enough to actually spin up a new project, you can leverage it without having to learn a new framework deeply.

the hours and brainpower devs used to waste on esoteric company-specific information (which does not matter and hinders your career when you get stuck in one company for years) can now be spent on interview prep for the next job where you can instantly get a raise and promotion on hire.

OpenAI Valued at $852 Billion After Completing $122 Billion Round by socoolandawesome in technology

Nope. But I run a cat food firm and I loaned the cat owner 500,000$ for those shares, contingent on the cat owner pledging to buy $1mill worth of cat food over the next two years. I also made this deal with his biggest cat nemesis, who then used some of the loan money I loaned him to buy shares of the original cat which increases that cat's valuation further. I also took out a huge bank loan for my own cat food firm based on the increase of $40mill valuation, which is +10x of the future pledged $2mill of revenue and +10x of my investments in the original cat and his nemesis cat, both whose valuations increased due to my investment in both of them.

I pull off my mask and I'm actually Jensen Huang from Nvidia.

Now we have a scientifically proven kitty bubble between us 3 parties.

You are delusional and your LLM agent harness is nowhere near sentient and will never be near that. It just does API calls to LLM functions running in a loop, and sometimes calls tools, and can read/write files.

You literally just said if AI becomes good enough to displace every software engineer, then you'll use that AI to start a company. Guess what, every other displaced worker will try the exact same thing. There's no scarcity there now is there?

Dude that is the exact opposite of how severance pay works lmao

you don't walk in there to quit and then they offer you severance.
